Sick!! Car getting faster and faster! Some nice parts on that thing now. 850bhp!!!! Thats sick! 1.9 bar too! that means it makes 280bhp naturally asperated! awsome result from a 13b. great 100-200 times too! Keep up the good work man.

It would seem that for some reason certain sections of the RX7 community won’t accept the 4.65 100-200 Dragy run was just 19psi.

For that section of retards here is a log file clearly showing the cal setting of 2300mb (absolute) equating to 19.35 psi gauge pressure as shown under BOOST column.

It shows rpm, vehicle speed in KPH and more importantly at the top section in the middle of the log you can see the Syvecs GPS recorded time of 4.65s covering a distance of 197metres which just so happens to match the distance covered in the Dragy run. (Bottom pic)

So not only did the dog shit £100 Dragy GPS record the time so did the £900 Syvecs motorsport grade onboard GPS.

It even shows EGTs, timing, inlet temps - the whole run basically, nothing to hide here.
Welcome to the world where people dont like you for doing somthing they cant.
The reason i belive this to be posible Would be possibly 650 bhp power potential (should be 4's) but mainly because you managed it in 1 gear hahahah thing must have been screaming its nuts off. RWD i done some mid 4's with honda k20 but i was DCT box which also helps time on power. Granted i was only around 550bhp becase the engine was stock at the time.

Be cool to see your times now with high boost should be right into the 3's easy.... Im 1200bhp now and knocking on 2's but as you probibly know Traction is super hard in a lightweight car.

Keep up the awsome work man.

Not much to report, waiting on OSG gearset, should hopefully ship this week.

Weather has been terrible so just waiting for the spring now really.

Had MOT and new brake pads fitted last week.

Good news, OSG kit has arrived.

It was collected by Geartech yesterday along with the gearbox, synchros and seals. Hoping to have it back late next week. With any luck it’ll be fitted by end of Feb.

Box all completed by Geartech.

Car was booked in this week to have the box swapped but upon removal pilot bearing was fucked so new one sorted and upon checking clutch it was clear that was in need of a refresh too.

So £1800 later i have an Exedy Twin plate due tomorrow/Monday.

Hoping to have the car back this time next week.

Also had a little bracket knocked up to properly mount the CDI boxes.

Car is now back, I went with the Exedy Twin plate clutch, replaced the clutch release bearing, Input shaft seal and pilot bearing too so all fresh.

Weather looks good tomorrow so planning on a decent road test to see how it all feels, felt decent on the way home last week.

Next up, some titanium boost hoses as my current ones have seen better days. Then when cash flow allows I’ll get the bushes all replaced.

Managed to get a few test miles in this weekend as weather was decent. The car is driving great, I should probably be bedding the clutch in a bit more carefully but I bumped into a 911 turbo so could not resist a little play.

The new brake pads have made a big difference too, stops surprisingly well for stock brakes.

I think I need to adjust the bite point on clutch ever so slightly but apart from that all good.

First proper shakedown since dyno and even at low boost (1.3b) the power on the road is plenty, made around 670 @ hubs on this setting. I haven’t even moved the dial up through the higher boost maps yet.

Tuner has looked through the logs and all is spot on with the tune on the road so that’s good news.

Have the Dragy charged so will start doing some of my own timing when time & weather allows. Should crack into low 4s high 3s with a bit of practice running at high boost.

Also managed to give the car a good clean and polish for the first time in about 6 months. I swear by the Poorboy products, their polish and wax is spot on and good value.

Who would like an update of the latest RX7 debacle ?

On a positive note I managed to get a morning away from wife and child this Sunday to take the car to a local car event, Fair to say my car was the noisiest in the queue. 😂

On a more frustrating note my gearbox jumps out of 3rd under load and now that I think of it was likely doing the same in 2nd when racing the 911, though at the time I thought it was clutch related.

I have spoken to Geartech many times over the last few days, they’ve been very helpful and more than open to inspecting the box if needed but before I go down that route OS Giken who make the gearset wrote back to me today explaining how they’ve had other customers who’ve had the same issue which turned out to be caused by the lack of strength in the OEM gearbox casing. The torque twists it enough to cause flexing and in turn pops out of gear, they claim 3rd is the most troublesome gear. Hindsight and all that but I wish I knew this before buying it.

So in order to try and solve this issue a company in Aus called Promaz sell this gearbox brace for this very purpose. I’ve ordered one today.

The other shortfall of my current set up is no additional gearbox bracing and rear differential bracing so lots of movement.

Luckily I already paid Colum
for a custom diff brace set up last year but never had it fitted, he also has a gearbox brace kit too.

So before I pull the box again for inspection I’m going to fit the above as well as extra gearbox and different brace to see if that solves the issue.

If all of this fails I’ll need to spend £10k+ on a gearbox swap. Luckily mortgage renewal is coming up, time to convince the wife to let me pull out some equity. 😂

In the meantime, a few stills from Sunday AM. Also, the picture where I’m pointing, I don’t remember doing this at all, I swear it’s AI added by the photographer. 😂

As I head into year 6 of ownership, this car is the gift that keeps on giving. ❤️
