Yesssssssssssssssssss! Did you have a cat converter or can you legally run a decat?

Lol at Tom's stalking :D

Man I missed this thing. Granted I've been driving mx5s, diesel Volvo estates, and Saab dadwagons for the past 4 years, but damn, third gear is freaking vicious!

Important tasks:
Fix fuel gauge!
Work out why Defi water temp gauge has shat itself :(
Get some new rear pads

Me or another Tom? Either way congrats man..

Also I’m outside your house so please don’t shut the curtains 👀 😂😂😂

Ugh. Trying to fix the fuel gauge. Failed hard at the hands of a cheesetastic screw on the fuel tank cover.
Giving it a chance to think about what it's done and come up with a strategy to try and defeat it.
Oh, and letting the fuel evaporate before getting the drill out.

I have a strategy 😁 get your phillips and whack the bastard with a hammer while turning to loosen! Usually works for me. I have managed to aquire and hand held impact driver now so saves splitting screwdrivers all time 🤣

Those manual impact drivers are badman, I’ve removed a lot of stubborn chocolate screws with one.

Manual impact driver didn't work :( tried that, tried hammering a torx bit in, tried using a flat head and hammering that in. :(
I think I'm at 'drill the head off and try to get Moleys on the stub' levels of anger.

Also, screws? Fuck right off, no need.
I've got some a4 cap screws to go back on instead.

If you haven't got a JIC screwdriver I wouldn't even both trying to undo those normally. Mole grips then replace with stainless :D.

Jealous of your working, road worthy FD, need to sort mine out!

I've got a JIC, but it failed on just the one.
I've used it as a tool excuse, and ordered a nice set of Knipex Gator Grips to attack it with.
I'm conscious of not going at it yet though, as my son desperately wants to go to Daikoku Nights at Caffeine and Machine this Wednesday with it, and knowing my luck I'll disable it.

Quiet around here, isn't it?

Last year the awkward bastard decided overnight one night to just stop doing clutch things. Tried all sorts of combinations of brute force and coaxing, but no joy.

So, here we are again.

This time around the helper that I've been brewing over the last 13 years came in super helpful.

New, friendlier clutch ordered, along with almost as much in ancillary bits and fluids. Mulling over fancy engine mounts while the block is out.

Also going to try and reseal the sump, and work out if I can be arsed to try and get the pilot bearing out, as this one has only done about 1500 miles
