I bought these tab washers ages ago for using lock wire on fixings that you couldn’t drill, thought I’d try them on the turbine bolts. I have no idea how these are supposed to be installed and there are no pics online, so hopefully this works:
Moved the car from its grave in Kent to my new place in Matlock. Bought some posh wastegates. Draw filed my turbine housing flange flat, which took forever.
With the car outside my house now I should be making more progress.
Heard from the fabricator that my downpipe and intercooler are ready. The downpipe I needed to remake for the new turbo and manifold, built it myself and had him do the finish welds. The intercooler needed a new cast section added to line up with the turbo:
Got the black crinkle paint out today for the FMIC end tanks, and tested out my fine brushwork on the compressor housing after drilling out the boost reference. Also fitted my Turbosmart oil pressure reg on the turbo feed line.
If I can get the intercooler to line up when it goes back together she's good to go. Still needs some bits like wastegate lines, EGT, bit of wiring to get mapped.
