Ah yh i see, it was calibrated inline with this info...but still did not work. Thank you for posting this, I thought there was another cal file I missed.

I've spoken with my engine builder and mapper and the solution is to remove the OMP and premix with the fuel.

Will get a new wmi controller and go back from more boost.

Did a few Dragy GPS runs to see what my 390 Bhp RX7 at 0.7 bar of boost can do.

The below runs were done in rainy and wet conditions with poor traction, so you can see the granny shifts in the graphs below. It was a bit sketchy out there but the below are the best runs I managed given the conditions. In dry conditions with warmer tyres and faster shifts I would expect the below times to improve.

I logged all runs on my link g4+ and due to poor conditions I was shifting well before 7000 rpm between 6500 rpm and 6700 rpm. My engine has been studded and fully balanced by Tim to run well over 8000 rpm. So there is still a bit of improvement that can be made to the below acceleration figures in the dry with warm tyres and good traction revving out to 8000 rpm.

60 - 100 mph in 4.46s wet conditions - (Shift from 3rd to 4th - Id imagine with a dct gearbox it would be even faster)
For reference an oem spirit r in optimal conditions will do 60 - 100 mph in 7.6s

Screenshot_20210103-134329_dragy.jpg

80 - 120 mph in 6.51s wet conditions (can be better as there was a slight incline. shift from 4th to 5th)
For reference an oem spirit r in optimal conditions will do 80 - 120 mph in 10.6s
Screenshot_20210103-134207_dragy.jpg

63 - 125 mph or approx 100 - 200kph in 9.29s (wet conditions) this is very popular among the 1000bhp GTR Battalion. (My mates 1000 bhp GTR does this in 3.85s in dry conditions with warm tyres)

(3rd to 4th is no too bad but 4th to 5th is defo a granny shift plus shows a bit of deceleration as I was going uphill which would not have helped). This can easily get into high 8s range without much trouble.

For reference an oem spirit r in optimal conditions will do 100 - 200 kph in 15.3s
Screenshot_20210103-134132_dragy.jpg

60 -130 mph in 10.55s wet conditions - For reference an oem spirit r in optimal conditions will do 60 -130 mph in 18.6s

60 - 120 mph in 8.50s wet conditions - For reference an oem spirit r in optimal conditions will do 60 to 120 mph in 13.7s.

I cannot wait to get back to Pip and turn up the boost and see what difference it makes?!

I would like to see fellow RX7 owners post up their dragy GPS runs too so we can compare some data.

All above runs done on 390bhp with 0.7bar boost in wet conditions shifting below 7000 rpm. If anyone has Dragy Gps runs from a 500 or 600 bhp RX7 I would love to see what improvements are made in relation to acceleration.

I should have some 500bhp dragy runs soon to post up soon. Hopefully before the end of the month.

Anyone interested in the oem spirit r data - I got it from here

Interesting mate, I’ll get some times up of mine when it’s back up and running over the next few months.

Dyno’d at around 600hp last time so very keen to see what times it can get.

The acceleration runs above have potential to be much better as all done in wet conditions and shifting early; well before 7000 rpm. However, its a good baseline figure to work off.

Saw stu put your engine together and all ready to rock and roll. Will be interesting to see how much faster your car accelerates compared to a baby 390bhp rx7 ha! Lawrence mentioned his 600+bhp rx7 was faster in a roll race against a 10s 1/4 mile Audi RS3 but he really needs to do a dragy GPS for 100 - 200 kph.

Since we are on manuals, I've found today there are 2 manual up shifts required (for my car) from 3rd to 4th and 4th to 5th which will no doubt slow us down compared to a relentless DCT box for the 100 - 200 kph run. Depending on how high your engine can rev safely you maybe able to hit 200kph or 124mph depending on your car in 4th which can potentially result is a faster time.

It made peak power at 7500 rpm and the limiter is set to 8500. It was tailing off towards the 8000 ish though as had an issue with the wastegate.

Its studded and balanced so I’d hope I can rev to at least 8000 and still be holding power.

Will definitely get some Draggy times this year.

Look forward to seeing your acceleration runs, if on the dragy you are able to get to 124-125mph in 4th at 8500 rpm that will produce a really fast time for your 100-200kph run.

I should have my own mapping/tuning sorted by the end of this month so with any luck i'll be able to test if 8000 rpm on mine hits 124/125mph in 4th for the 100-200kph run. I kinda doubt it tbh as im on a 4.44 final drive currently. I'll buy a oem diff with a 4.1 FD and 3.9 final drive and do some more testing on them as well.

Good dragy runs :)
There should be a setting when you change units and it'll give you 100-200 time.
I think a stock spirit r would be quite abit quicker than 15s as I did mid 11s with just bolt ons no map on a 99spec rs with a 100kg passenger

I will have to do them again in dry conditions to check if I can make any improvements.

Thanks, I have setup my dragy for 100-200 kph in mph which is the same as 62-124 mph so I should have some accurate runs for this parameter soon.

What bolt ons did you have? Thats a good time with a passenger. I got the spirit r acceleration info from here as I could not find any valid dragy gps runs on a stock rx7. Do you have any valid dragy gps runs for yours?

Apexi intake, blitz fmic, hks downpipe and feed catback. Yup it's on the leaderboard for mazda 100-200 -0.36% slope. Only run I got engine died a few months later 😂. Your times for 390hp with 1% incline are impressive

Awww nooo...😅. Least you got your 1 run 😂

Thanks, in the dry for 100-200kph I hope to get into high 8s range. perhaps even mid 8s with a slightly negative or level incline.

I couldn't find any rx7 data on the dragy leader board but by modern standards a 390-400bhp RX7 seems to hold its own against a stock DCT M4 and similar modern cars in the 400-450hp range. However, take an M4 to stage 2 or stage 3 and a 400bhp rx7 will run out of legs very quickly.

If you change your units to km you'll see it on there
Yeahh especially for a manual car holds up very, will be interesting to see what you car runs once you turn boost up hopefully into low 7s

Yup saw your run on there. Def much better than a stock spirit type r....goes to show how simple bolt ons can improve the performance of a bone stock rx7. Very impressive imo. However, I suspect all those bolts ons without a bespoke map might not have helped your engine.

I'll be mapping my car on friday so should have some results to post up.

Got a new wideband sensor to replace the almost 30 year old narrow band sensor. The additional benefit will be the link ecu will now have a real-time reading of the afr. This will also help when doing dragy gps runs and logging crucial data.

I will be tuning the car this Friday so should have some results soon.

Also got a new link 3 bar map sensor to replace the oem sensor which has more than done its duty for almost 30 years.

Life starts at 2bar 😂

Hahah! I know a couple of guys with engines built by my engine builder running 600ish and 600+bhp. One of them is on a large street port with an s366 running shy of 600bhp and another on a extreme bridgeport (jport) studded engine with hkst51rspl turbo running 1.7bar of boost! His low boost setting is 1.4bar :ROFLMAO:

I'm only looking for 450 at the wheels for now.....but as our link ecu's have switchable maps which can be engaged on the fly with a trigger switch I'll def have a big boost map on there for sure just to see where my turbo maxes out.
