Rotary Track Day with Magnitude Events - 5th July 2019

Latest posts

Can't wait for this now, gonna change my front pads anyways as i recall Lancaster is heavy on the front. If you have a gerry can bring some super as the local garages are shite. The entry road is horrendous so leave your suspension on soft. The noise meter is on twickers, not to worry initially but if you get a warning then back off there, or as i did take that corner in 3rd. The cafe is lush, i went for sausage and egg and was easily pleased. There are no garages so if you don't want your shit wet if raining then bring covers. Ultimately its the best course in the uk for beginners, masses and masses of run off. You can confidently push the limits knowing even if you go wrong your not going far. That said we all have to be conscious of people getting it wrong, the WORST people on trackdays are the trackday bullies. Be conscious of the people around you and they may take strange lines or brake in place you may not.

As long as we all have a great day, enjoy our cars and improve our driving then we all go home wanting to come back and do it again.

@Matt

Is there anyone you know coming that is good with a video camera? Would be great to have an edited video after the day with a few interviews, track cuts, bad music, etc.

I'm not driving on the day so could try and do a video. I have a helmet if magnitude are ok with me going in as passenger?

I've done two videos in the past but no longer own that steady cam. Maybe able to borrow a rig tho.

Obviously no pro but these were my attempts

One week until the event! Who else is excited?

Unfortunately, I won't have my 99s installed or my new Knight Sports intake installed ahead of this track day but I'm really looking forward to it. I will bring my timing gear and GoPro and I hope @Matt and others do some recording on the day as well.

I look forward to being at least quicker than the RX-8s and slower than the EFRs!

I'm still on-board but due off the ship on Wed 3rd. Weather is shit out here so I'm just crossing my fingers I'm at least on dry land for Thursday 4th.

Forecast looking ok so far.

Couple of supercharged RX8s going, so will be interesting to see how they compare. The normal ones will get massacred on the straights 😀

I'll be rocking multiple action cams again.

Wanky bloody north sea!!! It's looking increasingly likely ill not be off the ship in time for this. I'm still holding out all hope of making it home by Thursday night but the reality of it is dwindling. What's more annoying is, i was never going! Then i got a glimmer of hope and now it's getting rammed up my arse again.

Fingers are crossed the rest of this project speeds up.

I've got everything crossed mate, this bloody job!!! I miss everything that's gonna be good, then off work when fuck all happens.

Would anybody be interested in buying my ticket for this. Unfortunately I'm going to have to miss it now which is gutting. :(

Hey guys, a little PSA:

Track gates open from 8, breakfast from approx 830, briefing will be approx 930 and we aim to get on track by 10am.

Forms will be handed out to review and sign on the day.

Everyone staying at the Becketts, when do you plan on arriving? I'm hoping to be up there by about 6-7pm assuming I can actually depart my house at 3-4pm.

I'm hesitant to book a table for dinner and just let it be free floating but hopefully everyone will be hanging out at the bar the night before? We have a later start for the track day given the long summer days so hopefully we can all get acquainted at the Becketts on Thursday night.

As for premium petrol stations, there is only one I know of in the area and it is a BP selling 97. Every other station within reasonable distance only sells 95. It is located here in relation to the hotel and the track. I will probably fill up on the way into the hotel:

I've booked the afternoon off and I'll be aiming to get there between 5-6pm. I'll stop at the Tesco filling station in Lincoln on the way up, which is the last convenient place on my route to get 99 fuel.

I think last year they were using the Tesco in Scunthorpe to get 99 on the day.

Yup, play it safe depending on your tune but most tuners don't advance timing much and a lot of you big power guys are on water so should be fine with 97. My car doesn't seem to care although it gets the best fuel economy with Shell.
