Hey guys finally back in a Fd after the longest time away the only car I regretted selling was my Fd so when the chance to get one came about I sold my ps13 and raced down to pick up my Fd it used to belong to Jdk and it’s been quite the ownership so far

Firstly I’d like to thank jd for being one of the soundest sellers I have met

Basically he has spent a small fortune on the car with tgs prior to me buying including a custom v mount and turbo kit and a new crate engine

I collected the car and went to meet some familiar faces which was great for a catch up I will get pics but currently on a new phone

The car needs a full rewire and paint

I went to fit injectors I noticed some rust in the centre housing which made me pull the inlet off to find it full of rust in all the ports and then took the manifold off to find the engine was full of water I called jd to ask if it had been left with the bonnnet off or the engine wa left outside at all to which he said no and he offered to pay for the engine to be rebuilt which I was shocked at proof that there is still genuine folk out there

So since I have owned the car I have bought the following

Racing beat wheels
Maxx ecu pdm
Bosch motorsport injectors
Dbw adapter
Rebuilt engine by colum
Street port
Goopy seals
Balanced assembly
Engine dowelled
Os giken twin disk (cheers Jit)
Got rid of the Gav bey special non pas rack
Converted it back to pas (cheers Jit)

Here is some pics

Plan is full rewire and paint the car black and just enjoy it as a nice road car

Some more progress today

Cliff was gonna come give me a hand but I’m impatient and was at a loose end so thought I’d get a start on fitting the engine

Was a pain in the arse doing it on the deck the ppf and prop were right in the way but never mind I got it in a wee pic of my wheels too gonna keep the gold it will work well with a black car

I’m trying to find a pic of my old Fd some folk might remember it from the Fduk days

Thanks to Roy for collecting the wheels for me too on short notice

Hopefully have it back on its wheels in the next few weeks then it’s ready for paint or wiring probably wiring first then paint I guess anyway here is some pics enjoy

Well it’s been a busy few weeks moving out of my house the Fd was moved to my mates unit for now and I have started putting money away to get the full car rewired

Jit sent me a knob I fitted the 450 pump

So not much to show but hoping to get the car done for the start of the year then paint and enjoy for summer

Wee update

Put some coolant in the Fd and of course it was leaking at the filler that tgs had made it wasn’t flat from all the heat from welding so I put it on the belt sander I got it almost perfectly flat but wanted it perfect and of course it got jammed on the sander and ground it down to a wedge hahaha

So I bought this billet adapter from Ryan rotary performance and it’s great has outlets for water cooling and temp sensors

I also fitted a power steering pulley from Stu and got a uc10 and mount from him

I have a maxx ecu race sat and pdm20 too

It’s booked for wiring in April so I’m looking forward to getting it working then it’s just paint

Not a huge amount to report done the coolant setup and bled the coolant perks of a ewp also bought a cheap catch can and modified it to take that cap which is a built in breather now it’s just a case of bleed brakes/clutch and make lines for the catch can then I’m ready for wiring can’t wait to hear it running

Dropped this off to Xdr last week and it ended up being the drive from hell hahaha

A last minute decision to drop it off was made when my friend blew up his Impreza 5 speed gearbox and he asked me to collect his new 6 speed setup which was 3 hours from Xdr so killed 2 birds with one stone but unfortunately that stone hit my alternator on my Iveco recovery and left me stranded luckily I nursed it to a service station but I have rac I thought no need to stress 🤣🤣

Bearing in mind I left Fife at 2.30 am broke down at 6pm I then got wakened by the recovery truck at 3am to be told he had to be stood down because my over was only for vehicles 21 feet long and mine is 24 you literally couldn’t write this

So I had some charge on my phone managed to order a alternator from euros and booked a taxi to deliver it it arrived at 3pm the next day I fitted it and got back on the road it felt like an escape room and I beat it hahahaha

Big thanks to some of the Fd boys for the moral support and the laughs at my misery but we won as a team 🤣🤣🤣

Next update should be the car running 🙌🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Wee update

Wiring is coming along and hopefully the car will be started either this week or the next

I bought a rear bumper off cyman as my one is wrecked so will be less effort when it comes to painting the car
