Rx7 fd wont crank

I disconnected the power and cleaned it this morning and removed the spade connector too and re fitted it.

Im thinking that spade connector isnt functioning properly and not telling the starter to engage anymore.

Does anyone know what controls that wires signal ?
Ign wire from the barrel, through a relay and onto the starter iirc

What about disconnecting the spade connector and, using a 12v tester, link it to a good chassis ground.
Have the ignition turned on as if to start, the lamp, should, I would have thought, light up as long as the key is held in the start position.
If it doesn't then there's surely an issue elsewhere, but if it does then the solenoid isn't doing it's job.
It's new so I'll be cheesed !
Is the ignition wire to the solenoid okay and not melted ?

Visually the wires all look good, il do a test on that spade connector tomorrow and see what volts if any show.

Just checked and there is no voltage at all going to the spade connection when the key is turned so this is the problem.

Ive checked the ignition switch and when turned it has power so that rules the ignition switch out too .

I think the barrel takes the full current from that circuit. If you getting 12v at the barrel it may be worth putting a relay in and taking the load off the barrel.

Are you seeing continuity on that line between the barrel and starter ?

Ive only tested voltage to the spade connector for now.

Im going to ring an auto electrician next week and see if someone else can figure it out as im not really that good with electrics.

God knows whats stopping that wire from getting voltage

It may be its not giving it enough current.
Im not sure, to me the way it just stopped cranking after id been cranking it a few times and it was spinning real well then i had nothing at all makes me thing ive either shorted something or another thing maybe the immobiliser has died? .

Il hopefully get someone out to look at it cos ive not got a clue what im doing now 😂

Ok so i was sitting thinking about how much it was going to hurt my feeling to pay someone to fix this for me so basicly ive been out and cut the wires to the immobiliser and joined where it was originally attached back together.

Now the starter is engaging and working.

Woo, so all i need todo now is trace the rest of this wires back and return back to stock and all should be good. I hope

Good news .

Removed and refitted all wires back to stock she turned over but didnt fire.

Took the pump out and sucked some fuel through it then primed the car.

Fired straight up 😀😀😀

Took it for a 20 mile drive and it was spot on.

Thankyou everyone for your help 🙂
