I sold my last gtr a fully built r32 gtr pushing around 750hp roughly 2 years ago to fund a deposit for a house. Once in and settled I wanted another fd so I even tried the Merc game for a bit with a c63 amg but wasn't really feeling it so got rid of that a few months back. I then went and bought myself a 350z to daily which actually turned out to be a great car that I can park anywhere without worrying about door dings. I even chucked some coilovers and a exhaust on it. Then i began searching for a nice standard rx7, travelled the length of country numerous times only to arrive and find some awful examples not as described etc the usual bollocks. I very nearly gave up and was just going to get someone to find me 1 to bring over Japan. But almost

I had owned the car for a day but couldn't resist putting a cat back exhaust on as it was far to quiet for my liking.

I then ordered a few little bits, nothing major. Not pictured but also some fresh oil and a fuel filter

Just waiting on a ecu and going to map it to keep me occupied for the time been while I collect parts for single swap. Hoping for around 300-320hp on a nice safe tune. As of now that's where I am with the car after a 10 days of ownership.

Quick pics of my last gtr in case anyone is interested

Ah man you got a 106 gti 👍👍

Yeah I bought it for a track day I had booked when the gtr decided it no longer wanted 4 drive shafts any more and sheered a cv joint the day before the event. Literally picked it up at 9pm the night before lol. Was suprsingly quick round croft cornered like a rollercoaster lol.

Haha awesome 😆 I love my vtr, mine likes to slide alot on 14s 😂 i'd like to do a track day in it 😆

They are really fun little car's the saxos and 106s I was really surprised by it. I was all over the back of a e62 m3 for about 6 laps until brake fade got to dangerous levels and I had to end the pursuit. The guy spoke to me in the pits and couldn't believe it only had stock engine 118hp and stock suspension and brakes. He obviously pulled away quite abit down the pit straight but I was back on his bumper within 3 to 4 corners then he pulled away again on the next straight but then id catch him again lol was great fun. I was going to keep it but a friend offered me what I paid for it so I let it go. He still tracks it to this day.

Haha awesome! I'd love a go at a turbo one, they look great fun 😆 just a shame about the rust on them 😂 I had a red gti lookylike with a 1.4 8v engine in and no power steering and a cherry bomb 😂 it was atrocious 😂 looked tidy enough though!

I imagine a turbo one would be absolute hoot to drive lol. I bet you could embarrass some expensive machinery. 200hp in one of then would be a rocketship.

Fitted air pump, decat, pfc and had the car mapped. Unfortunately the clutch started slipping at 298.8hp after only a few pulls. Ended the session early and had to dial it back abit and left it at around 280hp so I could get home. The clutch is still slipping so car wont be getting any use for a week or so which is a shame. Its a bit annoying but not the end of the world, going to order a clutch and lightweight flywheel monday and get back to finish the tune and push a bit more power.

The car does feel much quicker and drives nicely despite been tuned down and clutch slipping.

Mad Mike just so happened to be doing a drift event round the corner and his car was there when I arrived which was a nice surprise lol.

Ha so cool! Nice one for getting a pic 😍
Shame about the fd! Do you still get full charge for ending session early due to trouble?

Not his fault my clutch is shit lol. Seems like a strong engine aswell which is good! I'm hoping to get back asap. Got a week off work from the 27th would be nice to get clutch and flywheel fitted and finish the mapping.

Yeah that's why I asked. I would gave thought maybe he said you should have checked your clutch first and charged you full price!

He is a nice guy he even put up with all my questions which I imagine was doing his head in lol

Great result Rob👍

Pip reckons squeeze a bit more once clutch is sorted injectors were only on 80% duty for the 298 run. I'm actually surprised how much it's transformed the car pulls so much harder now as long as you stay in 1st to 3rd.

Awesome! Funny enough I was watching the wheeler dealers fd last week with him on it 😂
