Had a similar experience in Wales but I was with a pair of m3s and a Audi TT.
One of the days was a damp morning. The M3 on PS4 pretty much left us all for dead. I had a set of ad08r and I was crapping my pants just trying to keep up. It wasn't traction for acceleration but with no abs I had a real problem with scrubbing off momentum too.
PS4 is a logical choice and I'd bet it'll do you well.
