Great car, just skimmed the thread from the start, fairplay working in the street and it looked wet Slightest mist the other day and I didn’t bother and always blame not having a garage!

Love a black fd, are you still planning a respray? Hope it’s staying black.

Also, how is your front plate mounted st that angle? Is there a bracket bolted to the bumper?

Thanks man yeah working out in the rain isnt the best but had to be done .
Im still planning a respray in black , ive got a bodyshop in mind at the moment and hopefully theyl let me help out too as i want all behind the bumpers and engine bay ect perfect.

The number plate is mounted with double sided numberplate tape at the moment, it was suposed to only be temporary

Ha, got mine held on with a double sided foam tape too but yours looked more angled and didn’t think you’d get it to sit like that with tape. Mine was temporary too

So not much has happened with the rx7 recently due to me buying a supra (selling it to my friend) and also my hit and run going through the insurance .

The rx7 is going in the body shop on the 1st of April to sort the dents and few blemishes ect. Then after august il get back to sorting the engine and turbo out.

Im thinking about the efr ewg 8474 turbo kit turbosource is selling.

Thanks man i do like the rear end pic too , yeah me and my cousin had the jdm cars for a couple years now, the supra i bought for my friend cos he really wanted one and hes just paying me back for it as we wanted all to go out this summer in our dream cars or else he'd be still driving a diesel Peugeot ,which wouldnt look as cool if you all wanna go for a drive in the summer .

Thank you, i was a bit upset cos of the massive dent in the side which someone did the day before but i pushed it out enough to not be too noticable

Dropped the car at the bodyshop, should have it back friday and hopefully theyl do a few of the blemishes around the car too while there fixing the couple of dents in the door ect.

Car didnt start very well the otherday and losing coolant so just dropped it off to have the engine rebuilt and fresh mot .

Had a call earlier some bad news ,engine is all apart and its apparent the water seals have failed and where the car was sat for so many years the irons are no good, so told him to order new and hopefully thatl be all it needs now .

Hopefully have it back soon , miss looking at it

Got the rx7 back, had all new plates ,waterpump and filler neck , all new hoses and anything it needed basically,

Had a few issues driving it back with an airlock, then found out why this morning , the heater core hose which goes to a reducer thrn the engine was leaking.

I removed it and put a couple of jubilee clips onit and rebled the system , filling from the throttle body coolant line.

Let it idle for a bit till fans came on, then let it rest for a while, came back out topped it up then took it for a 10 mile drive. Parked it up and waited for the fans to come on and everything seems to be fine now, fingers crossed.

I do hope it wasnt something major as hes just built mine , seemed ok when i drove it but i guess only time will tell now

Mine was an auxiliary issue and the fans didn’t work - just wasn’t what was expected to happen on the way home given RX motors had done the rebuild and put all the engine auxiliaries in.

Unfortunately for me this was the start of the issues but I Know of others who have had good experiences with them and others bad.

Just got Back off holiday , checked water level and it was spot on, so took it for a drive and it ran flawlessly, got home and let it idle till the fans come on, didnt over heat or anything, seemed to idle ok maybe a bit low but nothing major.

Mot tuesday as its just out then i can finally enjoy it.


Looking for a new ecu after the engine is ran in then il have it mapped on the new ecu.

Not sure what ecu to get yet needs failsafes and also to work on sequential twins.
