SignUp Now!Sounding lovely now mate, out of interest - how much did the LINK spot what was happening while the running was being iffy? Was it all over and alert you / shutdown the engine straight away or did you spot it via a gauge?
The Link ECU didn’t help with diagnosing the issue. Well it did help me confirm that the oil pressure was slightly too high as the ECU has a sensor to record that data.
The reason it went back to Stu was because I compression tested it and it was too low and also the oil pressure was too high. So he’s remedied both those issues. The compression was too low mainly in part to me not running it in correctly/long enough coupled with the fact Stu ran wider seal tolerances as I plan to abuse the engine at high rpm. So this time I need to properly run it in and Stu has tightened up the tolerances a tad as well as lowering oil pressure slightly.
But the Link ECU has a shit load of safety features like any decent modern day ECU.
Boost/fuel cut based on any number of parameters that you’ll set. If fuel pressure drops for example or if oil pressure drops. You can add rev limits based on coolant temp, inlet temps and oil temps etc. You can also assign parameters to AFRs too if engine goes lean and probably loads of others that I’ve not even looked in to.
The other handy thing is the live logging which I have used to fault find issues with voltage drop. The logging records everything that’s going on and is really simple to look back on.
I definitely think that you are going to have a highly modified tuned car you need a modern day ECU.
Was seeing 110-120psi at 3-4Krpm in 5th when hot.Just out of interest what are you classing as too high oil pressure?, what rpm?
Haven’t driven it yetAnd what has it been reduced to now then?
