Going to cut a long story short here. I have had an rx7 for.. i have no idea how long. Anyway due to reasons i won't go into it has sat for the last 8 years. Decided to do something about it, problem is the guy i was with used to sort it for me, that isn't an option now.( I did take an interest all them years ago but not as much as i should have..as I had girl things to do. haha. Anyway regretting that now. 🙈) Currently the rx7 is in a car garage and the guy did an engine compression test...it is low. My question is..with it being sat for so long is it worth pulling the engine out to get a rebuild or is it going to be totally gone?

The value of RX7's have increased a fair bit over the last 8 years so depending on the condition of the rest of the car and presuming it was running when parked? its worth pulling the engine.
Did the guy doing the compression test know how to do it on a Rotary as its different to a piston engine.

it wasn't running, it literally just sat. If i had known better then i would never have left it. Anyway that is another story. before that is was spot on, was amazing to drive and i never had an issue with it. Honestly the chassis isn't great. I have bought a replacement one to save time - In fact i have bought a whole new rx7 car without an engine. 🤪

Yeah he has an rx7 himself so I would assume he knows what he is doing.

Engine parts can be saved and housing reused so i would always say its worth pulling the engine and stripping down for parts / rebuild and stripping the car could find the rebuild to get your new one running!
What year spec is the one with the engine in?
Any photos?

Given that 8 years ago running rebuilt clean fd's were changing hands around the 5k mark and now it's 20k+, it's worth having a go at 👍
