Good work. I thought my insurance was bad enough considering I am old and it's a low mileage policy. But that is eye watering.

Have you tried Brentacre? I'm 23, was £1050 everything declared etc.

Give Reis a try. A little over 400 for me from memory with full NCD and 5k miles pa. They also cover 5 trackdays a year.

Bought a new gearbox it’s a bmw 330d 6speed Box with a better top gear ratio
Still won’t be perfect but 3100rpm at 70 should be ok

new box is 4” longer than the one in there at the moment so prop and gearbox mount will need to be reworked

also started making a new header tank as my original one was a bit small and the filler didn’t seal well

You really need to change the diff ratio to get the most out of the engine. A 2010 Camaro TR6060 with 3.55 still feels like it needs taller 1,2,3 & 5 gears. 5th hits low 160's, then its a big jump to 6th (revs drop to 4000rpm from rev limit), but it's a good cruising gear. Around 2000rpm at 80mph and still pulls strongly. Can easily drive it at 1000rpm in top too.

yeah thought I could get away with just doing the box but I think the new plans to get a 3.05 bmw diff and mount that

What thickness of aluminium did you make it out of ?

I need to make a Water injection tank, and I've got a sheet of 3mm sat waiting to get cut up !

3mm I believe just whatever was left by the guillotine at work

ah nice look forward to seeing it

thanks man my alloy works not great I don’t get a chance to practice at work
We still need to meet up man
Yeah we should. My diff has been in bits for months now. Been a bit of a pain in the ass stripping and getting parts for it.
