I’ve had 3 people message me saying they’ve seen my car

Car passed the mot tester was a Rx7 fan and loved it

Still having the strange hessitation but it’s every now and again

I’m happy though just gonna give the car a once over now it’s done a few road miles to check all’s well

Never thought I’d actually finish this going into it

lol, my car looks pretty much the same so I'm not surprised

Congrats on the MOT. Make sure you do a bolt check if you haven't already. I had a critical suspension bolt that almost fell out

Went for a drive today while it was dry

The cars driving great and the torque is incredible, after having a dc2 for 4 years I’m struggling to get used to the low redline of the Ls but I’m over the moon with it
Changed out the spark plugs as a precaution earlier
And I’m having an earthing isssue so I’m gonna beef up the earths

So I was getting a strange issue where an earth was getting hot when starting the car and it was struggling to start randomly since changing the starter motor

So I added 5 new earth straps today and it seems to have done the trick

Went for a drive today and managed to split a hose for the steam vent and pissed coolant everywhere quick fix though and got it back to my workshop

Need to re think my coolant tank as I’m not happy with it

Been a while, I’ve been taking a break from cars since the fd was finished

starting to get back into it now as I’m bored of playing modern warfare

got the car out today to warm it up and got a few pictures

got some parts on order from America to hopefully sort the misfire at low throttle
New leads a coilpack and some new lambdas

plans over the remainder of winter are to sort out a newgearbox with better ratios as1-3rd is pretty much useless at the moment
Looking into diesel bmw boxes

So started digging into the fd to find the cause of the misfire

I had an issue with an earth getting hot ive resolved it by adding a load of new earths but I hadn’t assessed the earth that was getting hot
I cut back the cable shield and it wasn’t good the outer cable was cooked
So replaced that and wrapped it back up
Luckily it hadn’t damaged any other wires

Wow that was lucky, are you going to pull the harness and change out the earth for some thicker gauge?

Spent the evening with the fd tonight
Added an extra hose to the oil breather system to copy the stock set up and added some more earthing linking a few sites together

took some extra care To attach the intake and maf to make sure there was no air leaks
And loosened and ready tourqueed the intake manifold
And hey presto it runs the best that I’ve ever seen
You could balance a penny on the intake now

plan is to get it off axle stands and give it a test tomorrow
