A good read and great pics, I have seen your car at Frank's place it is a really nice looking 7 and the colour is stunning.

I am back there next Sat to have a few bits done so will have to have a sneaky look at how the engine bay looks now.

I've missed out loads but its the best I could do to give a brief recap over the last 5 years.

hahah no probs about the pics, shame that site was closed when you went there....i wasnt aware it was.

I was not a big fan of the monty blue at first but its certainly grown on me. Such a cool colour and to think its a factory flip by mazda.

Thanks Mate, I was hoping to do it sooner.

Absolutely and its even more noticeable under direct sunlight. Its a fascinating colour and I wonder what made mazda add this colour to their FD Palette. None of the other FD colours have a flip to them in different shades of light.

Update - Turbo Oil seal failed. Turbo has been sent to turbo rebuilds. At this point Im unsure when i'll have the car back. As there could be further issues again so not getting my hopes up or holding my breath.

Turbo rebuilds have rebuilt the turbo and I should have the car back this week.

Im having issues with the car cutting out power, runs for a bit then complete shutdown. The circuit breaker dont trip either. What can cause this sorta behaviour?

Fuel cut on the map maybe pat?

Have you checked basic stuff like map sensor etc? Who's sorted your car for you? If it's come back like that then maybe contact them?

yh i think its all electrical systems shutting down....

Battery connections are a first, grounds on the major fuse boxes. Ecu plugs and the ground wire, just check a pin hasnt worked loose and pushed back.

If it's electrical shut down then as above..... I'd start with grounds, making sure the ground on the apexi is bolted down and a good earth to the body would be priority maybe worth checking the alternator output too

Update - posted in company reviews my brief experience with FB rotary.

Progress has been slow last year. However goals are to get the fd rebuilt a 2nd time and hopefully not have any issues.

Things to do
1. Rebuild the engine again
2. Overhaul interior
3. Overhaul underside
4. Do some track days!

In process of getting the Fd rebuilt and thinking about getting a brand new engine. Apparently Stu at rotor torque and Dwayne from silver fern supply these.
Awaiting for a price.

Does anyone else supply these, Other than going directly to mazda?

Detailed the car inside out yesterday. Really need to get it up and running hopefully in time for the summer.

Love the Low seating position.

However to fill the void I got a new toy.
Enter E92 M3 V8. The throttle response is unreal. Lightning fast!
