My son and myself have finally pulled a FD out of its resting place for the last 23 years and we are rebuilding the engine. Really would like to bridge port it, but we are not sure about the day to day driving quality. Any advise please share. My youtube channel is The forgotten FD, as we are documenting the whole journey for our memories.

Also the engine has 3 piece apex seal in excellent condition. Do I reuse them or but 2 piece and after market or genuine. All the questions, no answers so please help.

Personally I wouldn't bother.

What are your power goals, do you need a bridge to achieve them? A good street port will usually be more than enough when matched to your choice of turbo.

I wouldn't bother either

Bridge porting was one of a few porting styles that came about through racing in the NA days. Longevity takes a bit of a hit as a consequence.

Anyone remember J-porting?

To be honest we just love the sound. I know there are loads of porting options. We are planning to use the stock turbos to start with and maybe move onto single turbo. There is a obvious big cost in a single turbo upgrade so I just wanted it back on the road for now. It has some bits already done to it. Knights sport 4 beat chip, lager intercooler. Larger pupe work and filter. Basically like a stage two modern remap

Bridge porting with twins would be a massive waste of time and money. Complete mismatch, think of bridge port like larger cams, will want to be able to breath and make power much high up the rev range.

If you want a bridgeport for the Braps, you can achieve some of the lumpy idel with an aftermarket ECU tune. Have google for some examples
