Vinyl wraps

@Chat had his wrapped! I'm guessing it wouldn't be anymore than 2-300 quid!

haha i thought the same untill asking my local lad, he quoted £1500 "Mates rates" aye hes nae my mate anymore haha

My missus Merc A45 had the front wrapped in a clear protective wrap and that was c. £700 so good luck on getting a decent vinyl applied for couple hundred :D

If you know someone who does a decent job for £200 - £300 please let me know!

I know people who have paid £1500 - £2000 depending on the type of wrap both from this place http://www.apmcustoms.co.uk/

I've seen their work close up and its spot on, they will also remove items off the car where needed to give it a perfect finish.

Seriously! What's the point when you could get a decent spray job for that price?
Yeah I understand it don't scratch and protects your paint job yada yada but I'd rather spend that kinda money on a spray job!

Id class myself is a avid DIYer and i sprayed my car myself but it probibly cost about 5-600 in products, sanding, fillers, paints etc. Not the easiest work. i managed full strip down, bodywork and paint in 2 days.

Id always prefer paint to wrap though.

I havnt had a quote below £2000 for a respray, the closest one to £2000 was a guy who does it in the garage at the back of his house.
I’ve been quoted a rough £1500 minimum for a full wrap from a company in Newport.

That’s why my car is still multi coloured!

haha tell me about it! When i bought my white shell i was buzzing because i didnt have to do any bodywork. turns out i end up spraying the full bloody thing anyway! Its up for sale soon so that should pay back some of the things done i suppose

I’d ask how and where 😂
yeah £1000 is megggaaaaa cheap. although cheap spray jobs in a 2k gloss colour can always be flattened and buffed to a perfect finnish :D stay away from metalic if its a cheap job. haha my red car is hideous spray job. you can see primer through the base

If I’m paying to have it done I think I’d like to just stay with the vintage red, not sure how shit a 2k red gloss would look.

That’s the dilemma, be a cheap arse and risk it being shit even after sinking a grand or 2 into it or wait it out and pay a bit more, I’m not overly fussy but it would hurt seeing runs and shit loads of overspray etc after a paying out.
I sprayed my old s13 myself but it was matte 😬
I wouldn’t mind paying a grand or so for a wrap if it was mint when finished, gonna be in the same boat in a few years time again then though

Ouch, I was hoping for around the 1k mark.

Resprays dahn saath are expensive, most quotes I've had from painters near me are approaching 4k. I might give a DIY spray a go.

Any of you guys had full wraps? How much roughly did it cost?
Hey! Yes I’ve recently had mine wrapped. £1400 inc vat
Prestige motors in West London. They also done some bodywork prep work.

Hope this helps.

You know what they say. Pay peanuts get monkeys.
My quotes was around the £1400/£1600
Be specific and ask if door shuts are included.
Or they’ll charge extra over the valuation.

Is also worth noting that the prep for a wrap needs to be just as good as for a paint job. If the metalwork underneath is dented and bubbly, it'll show right through.
Dandan's old grey FD was wrapped - he did it himself, but he used to work for a sign writer, so very much knew what he was doing. It looked great, but too him a long time. There was a join in the B Pillar (or is it a C pillar?) And he said the front bumper was a pain in the arse. He used decent vinyl and it wasn't cheap.

Beware of cheap quotes. If they're suspiciously cheaper than everyone else, then it's probably either because their work is crap, or they use cheap vinyl which will look shite or fade very quickly

I own a wrapping company and can tell you the material can't be bought for £200 to £300. Expect to be paying upwards off £1300 to thousands for different finishes ie flip colours , satin chrome and coloured chrome.

Also can't see a £1000 pound spray job being any good at all and we have a seen a lot off bad ones lol.
