That’s a beastly turbo, I’m hoping to be revving as high as 9k when mine is run in and mapped.

I couldn’t resist, started buying some carbon bits for the M3 today.

All the boost, all the timing, all the rpm 👌

Removed the turbo today. My garage floor was looking quite glorious lol. Only thing better than 1 efr is 2 efr 👌

The 9280 has a impressive 73.7.mm inducer compared to the 8374's 62.6mm. Also the obvious increase in turbine size from 74mm to 80mm. This bad boy should hopefully flow some air lol.

Also bought a BOV to go in the new turbo but couldn't resist trying it on the 8374 last week.

Also got picked up a cheeky set of feed wings

Not updated this in ages. Had a issue with the car not making any power on the dyno which turned out to be a sticking wastegate and a few other small leaks discovered by stu and jay. I left the car with them after it played up on dyno and got a lift home with @Robbo80 as I couldn't be arsed to deal with it myself lol.
Engine has still done very few miles so only tuned very conservatively to 1bar and a 7200rpm rev limit making 440hp. Also my exhaust is now a restriction as the bridgeport wants to breathe lol. Going to fabricate a exhaust at some point 3.5" turbo back then in the new year up the boost to 1.4 bar and a 9000rpm rev limit once I have a few more miles on the engine. All the ID I injectors etc are also now fitted and my FEED elbow for maximum jdm points. Just need to fit the black silicone to replace the ford focus blue lol. Car is pretty much finished and how I want it just the exhaust and map to do and also fit all my poly bushes and pillowballs that I have been putting off for months and also paint the light cover that removed itself from the vehicle at the national speed limit.View attachment 18168

Also bought a new daily driver for anyone that might care(unlikely) View attachment 18167View attachment 18166

I've noticed quite a few of us FD owners have M3s. That's a lovely F80 M3. Take one of em to stage 3 with a littco hybrid turbo and you making insane power and torque!

Yeah they are a perfectly daily driver that's reasonably fun cant really fault the car tbh its highly capable plus Nigel absolutely loves it. Win win

He wants to see if he can use less fuel and a bigger turbo to take someone's head off with apex seals like a fucking ninja 😂

Do you have a boost / AF:R graph from the 8374 tune? Were you on the biggest exhaust housing for the 8374?

I was using a 1.05ar housing. I did at some point have a graph but not a clue where it is now I'm afraid. The tune thats on the car now was only really a tune for the time been. It was 450hp at 1bar spring pressure, high 10s afr from memory. A fairly restrictive exhaust was on the car which didn't help could of also added duty increase through the rpm but your gonna be coming out the max efficiency zone. Dont get me wrong the 8374 definitely had alot more in it for sure but i want to rev the car to 9k+ if possible and future proof the spec so larger comp and turbine wheels will help with that. When you compare compressor maps from the 8374 to 9280 the max efficiency window is much higher up the rpm and also wider which is what I wanted. I'd expect this to be coming on full boost around 4 - 4.5k were the 8374 I had on song at 3 - 3.2k. Yeah it's going to be laggier but my driving style I rarely get on the power at 3k when pushing the car I like to cog down lol. I'm usually coming onto throttle about 4 to 5k so should suit me better.

The car will be mapped again properly when this coronavirus stuff goes away. Gonna to fabricate full 3.5" exhaust piping and into a 4" can at the back so shouldn't get held up in the box. Bridgeports really dont tolerate back pressure very well they wanna breathe lol.

Been a good few months since i updated this.

Basically decided to change my turbo and exhaust setup and a few other bits. I decided to build my own custom exhaust and modify a manifold to suite my requirements.

The choosen manifold £7 from @GAVBEY lol 👌

One the things ireally wanted when making this exhaust was the tip to extend out past the bumper a good bit sick to fuck of cleaning heat flame stains off the back of the car lol.

Also picked up a re-street diffuser

I suspect it may be quite loud lol. Its ok though because Nas and Sim have both confirmed my sleeper status in still in tact.

How does this work when you rev the motor or go into a left hand corner and the engine moves?
