What tyres.

Searching for new tyres for my fd on the standard 17s.

Choices are extremely limited by what I can see online.
Its very difficult to get a full set of 4 in a premium tyre as the sizes don't seem to be catered for any more.
255/40/17 being the main culprit.

Anyone running slightly different sizes than mazda oe.
I can get ad09s in 225/50 17 and 255/45 17.

Compared to oem size. 235/45 17 255/40/17

The slightly narrower front tyre is closer in diameter to the 255.

Anyone run similar to get a decent selection of tyres?

Had the same issue and couldn’t find a brand that did all 4. Ended up giving up and kept to oem size. Pilot sport 4 rear and Toyo proxes sport 2 on the front.

AD09 fit really square so if you’re already close on road tyres you will rub.

This is a 265/35 and 295/30 AD09 on a 18x10/11

Personally I’d try to get a PS4S/PS5

Got plenty of room for tyres (i think)
Its 25 ish mm taller than the oem size.

When it comes to tyres. I like em chunky.

Decided to stick with oem sizes. Didn’t want the hassle of informing insurance ect.

Also checked my speed display against a calibrated gps unit. Its bang on. 70 is 70. Increasing the radius would throw this out and would under read. Which is a non compliance with uk law.

Decided to empty my wallet and gone for Yokohama advan A052.
They were fantastic on my impreza and weren’t over the top with road noise or excessive wear for a track day tyre.

Best price I could find delivered. If anyone is looking for some.

OEM size is 225xsomething R16

255x40x17 is (or at least was last time I bought tyres) a common porsche size, and had all the usual suspects available.

Not on a 99+ spec car. It came with 17s.
Oem sizes re 235/45/17 front and 255/40/17 rear.

No one brand top drawer brand does tyres in both sizes.
Michelin ps4s unavailable. Ps5 unavailable.
Yokohama ad09 unavailable
Goodyear f1 assy 6 unavailable.

Mine too, think all the RS models were 17s but my 99+ came on factory 16s
