I've been looking at buying my first rx7, theres a few im looking at one in particular had an engine rebuild by apex rotary in 2015. I was going to email them and see if they had any knowledge of doing the car, if they do what did they do etc. however when I search for the website/ social media I couldn't find anything, I went onto companies house and it says on there the company has been dissolved? anyone got any ideas or know why?
thanks

They became Eurospec and then that too disappeared from existence.

Would avoid any car with a rebuild from them tbh. Too many horror stories....

oooo when you put it all together sounds a bit sketchy, what kind of horror stories are there?

Apex were known for offering cheap rebuilds. Cheap because they reused parts that they really shouldn't have. I'm more aware of them from the RX-8 community. Numerous early failures of engines rebuilt by them and often not honoring their warranties.

Take your pick. Bad workmanship, parts paid for but never actually ordered/arrived, strings of broken promises. As above, I’d run a mile from any car done by them

right I see I don't think I'll bother pursuing that one then cheers for the insight, any other places to keep an eye out for? also do many come up for sale through this forum?

The usual. eBay, Pistonheads and occasionally they pop up on Scumtree

around the 9-10k mark not fussed if its a bit shabby body work/interiorwise I just want a good runner to build on.

Eurospec actually bought apex rotary after apex bought what was left of rotechniks then eurospec folded.

I'm still keen to find the cutaway rotary engine that was on Rotechniks counter, and then was at Apex and then disappeared when Eurospecs showed up. I borrowed it and took it to a few shows to show people what a rotary engine looked like .
