Suspension Bushes

There is probably plenty of threads but I'm not sure if there is a complete list of suspension bushes (OEM or rubber equivalent) available.

I hope to refresh everything underneath my Spirit R in the next 6 or 8 months, I've just finished my Supra and replaced everything underneath, as much OEM as possible but a lot of parts discontinued. Febest in Germany made rubber replacement bushes so used those for the discontinued parts.

Has anyone replaced the bushes underneath and still has the list of part numbers required and if they are still available? Would save a lot of time doing the research.

I may also go down the road of Ohlins, they seem to be one of the best reviewed replacements for the suspension. Anyone have these fitted and how to they compare to the stock bilsteins in a Spirit R

Cheers

Keep the SR standard. Have the bushes perished?

I'm very undecided on the Ohlins I'll probably keep the stock Bilsteins, I haven't checked the bushes in detail but the car is almost 20 years old, the car was definitely out in the sun in Japan the paint needed a good lift so the 20 year old rubber is probably past its best. Anything being replaced with be stock rubber not going near polybushes.

The difference it made on my stock TT6 supra was unbelievable, granted that car is another 10 years older and 50% extra mileage.

I’ve got a 99 RS with blistens on. They are based near me so I was going to see about getting them refreshed just because they are 20 years old now like you say. Will let you know how I get on.

Most people go poly, so would buy a super pro kit the 6 pillow balls from Mazda, and the rear lower control arm inner bush. That's all you would need.

If keeping OEM rubber, I'm not sure if they would all be available but look at the kits should give you a list of what you need.

For the upper and lower front wishbones, you might as well buy the whole arm, since you can't replace the ball joints. The upper rear is the same. So actually you wouldn't need that many bushes.

Look at the poly kits as they list them all.

Stock rubber is available, Mazda UK can supply it, But with a delay because it comes from Japan. I got mine from Nengun.
I got the Hardrace kit for some of them, and new OEM rubber for the rest.

I did some of mine recently, many of the bushes were fine, the rear toe controls were completely shot though. Low milage 94 car

Yeah I think the best option may be to get it up on the lift and see how each bushing is holding up and go from there. I use Nengun also for getting part numbers but usually Amayama cheaper but for some reason they don't have part diagrams for Mazda like Nengun do.

I'm just fitting sound deadening at the moment so I'll get that finished up and move onto looking at the bushings next

I got all bushes from Mazda but it was quite a few years ago now. Price wise it was the same as these aftermarket poly kits but i wanted to stick with rubber.

I just got the super pro kit - a good kit and easy enough to install - had to use Oem pillow balls and also a power flex kit for the rear track control arm - not driven the car yet tho - my old ones didn’t need doing as was low mileage but the car is getting a total rebuild so did it all

Also waiting the arrive is the sway bars from super pro but that’s delayed due to the virus

How much do the original bushes go for? Around 350 quid?

I've no idea, if anyone had full list of part numbers they used in the past that would be great, I'm sure plenty would be interested in replacing there's if the research work was done to compile the list.

£350 sounds very reasonable I'd expect double but could be way off. I know for my Supra non OEM rubber bushes and OEM engine, gearbox and diff mounts cost in or around £1000 from memory

I've seen super pro kits from Australia on ebay for about that. Let me know if you find out oem prices from Mazda

Excellent thanks a million for that, I agree anyone should be doing their own research and not following the list blindly but that gives everyone an 80% headstart.

I've seen it on the Supra forums, 5 or 6 years ago no one was asking for this information suddenly when they became worth something everyone wants theirs to be in the best condition possible the RX7s are following suit fast so I'm sure that list will help plenty of people out willing to spend the money on OEM

Well the above list totals somewhere around £2-2.5k if purchasing everything, I've added engine mounts to my cart aswel when checking the prices, that brings it up over £2.5k including shipping but excluding vat and import duty from Japan

go to mazda direct, obviously not open now but they will be cheaper
