waddup mofos,

Got a slight issue where my FD steering is far too light at speeds,
Feels like I'm gonna crash when taking hand off to change gear.

Set-up is federal RSR (new) 255/40/17 on 17x9.5 all round
HSD monopros
Fully poly bushed with super pro (new)
New tie rod ends
Original ball joints (can't replace them)
Power steering works and confirmed not electronically controlled

Does the power steering pump have a speed sensitive thing inside it mechanically that could be broke?

Power steering actually dumped all its juice the other day and was still too light at speed.

So maybe this is an alignment issue? i'm not well up on geo settings and I basically copied roys set up.
Attached below is my Alignment specs that were done less than 100 miles ago

Are you running an engine bay undertray (the plastic one)

Thought it could be a wing issue (the fb went super floaty at speed) but your rocking the stock one. Have you got a rear splitter ?

I have a stock under tray but not fitted (can't find it)
And no rear diffuser just the standard plastic thingy. and standard spoiler

Deffo put the under tray back on but that won't solve this issue. My car is heavy at speed Joe to the point that i usually ache in my forearms after a decent dry trackday. At 100mph it should take a determined effort to steer. Front tyres aren't up at 40psi+ are they?

Don't think so I'll check
Yeah I need to get the undertray back on

Car handles really fucking well though. Did all b roads and mountain passes over the weekend going pretty quick like round the bends

Any strange noises from the pump or rack, from lock to lock?

Is your pressure switch connected on the pump?

Worth taking the control valve out of the pump and cleaning, checking for damage?

It is a Speed controlled system yes.

the pressure switch just steps up the idle speed when turning the wheel,

I believe its a mechanical rpm controlled system rather than a speed controlled. The higher rpm, the less assist.

Do you have an underdrive pulley set?

If you do then the underdrive pulley is slowing down the rpm the power steering pulley is turning at, and you may be getting more assist than you should be.

Cheers guys maybe after I've fixed the sump I'll get it into alignment

No-one got any comment on my current settings?

I copied Roy's basically:

The only thing I have to say about your set up is worth having a read of this:
