SignUp Now!Good thinking there Mark but I can't use the magnet as I use NFC daily (opens doors at work). I've ordered an adjustable mount and a pixel mount, i'll see which is the best fit.
For anyone who wants just the RX7 mount I got it from here and it came to less than £20 posted. The website looks awful but it came quickly with no issues. If someone had a 3D printer this would be the thing to make!
Yup same here.
For anyone thats interested this adjustable mount fists a google pixel 2 with the official fabric case, i'll update with how snug it is when I go for a drive

would it interfere with an Apexi FC if mounted with the standard dash mount? like Mark says it seems to stick out a bit?
Bit of a bump for this one. I'm sick of having my phone flying around and i'm not a fan of these holders that 'stick' on or have to be jammed into your vents. Also i've fallen in love with the android auto app
I previously used one of these:

the problem was if I was driving like a dick the weight of the phone would have the mount and the phone flying!
I've decided to give the 'Brodit' solution a go, it looks to be solid and can be removed with out damaging anything! It basically works in two parts.
1. A mount for your car
2. A phone holder for your type of phone that screws into it.
The phone holder part hasn't come yet but the RX7 mount has. I've just installed it and for what I initially thought was a very expensive slab of plastic, the fit is bloody good. It seems solid as a rock, I'll get a picture of it with the phone mount fully installed when it comes but for now this is how it sits.

So I've got my expensive slab of plastic, how the fdoc do I fit it around the air vent without smashing the vent to pieces. Do I have to take the vent out?
Did you get the little plastic spreader tool? You slide that in the bottom then put pressure on the holder and it clicks into place. Then repeat for the upper part. Mine went in quite easily
