Hey all.
my RX7 has developed a miss fire and running on one rotar.
I’ve gone through everything from fuel pump, electrical problems and I’ve narrowed it down to the coil pack. (I think)
I’m getting excess fuel/ unburnt fuel out of the exhaust also. Which makes me think it’s not fuel injectors.
I’ve done the testing with a multi meter and both T1 andT2 is showing 1.1 oms between a and b connectors. the leading is showing 0.9oms. This is high but in range.
Could this be the cause?

1.1 to 0.9 ohms is nothing tbh and probably amounts to how clean the contact is.

I guess plugs and leads have been changed. I had a lead that used to shake loose due to the connection. It always looked fine but felt a tiny click as it connected properly.

Is the grounding suitable on the coil pack?

Also could be an injector stuck open, that is more common than stuck closed tbh

Yep new plugs a leads last month.
Grounds are all good and have been cleaned
On the service book it says there should be a reading between the two leading coils which I can’t get any sort of reading from.

Have you comp tested it. First thing I’d do to rule it out before I touch coils or injectors

No I haven’t done a computer test.
I know it can go at anytime but it was running as sweet as a nut but not driven.
Then all of a sudden this.

Maybe just do a poor mans test for now and listen for a difference in puffs between front and rear

Yep just pull a each plug front and rear in turn and crank it with the egi relay pulled.

You can hear it pretty easily if it's lost compression. Should be

CHUFF CHUFF CHUFF

not

CHUFF chuff CHUFF

My HT leads had nice zaps down the outside when I bought my car, could only see in the dark. Kept gumming up plugs

Morning All

turns out after lots of taking apart and cleaning it was dirty plugs that were causing the issues.
i purchased a compression tester so if anyone need any help let me know.
the new question i now have is are the plugs the correct ones?
I have 4 x Trailing plugs NGK R BUR9EQP. is this OK as some say yes and some say you should have 2 x leading style and 2 x trailing.
what is best?

Standard has different temperatures for leading the trailing, however a lot of tuners reccomend getting 4x BUR9EQP. Thats what I run and they work flawlessly hot and cold.
