Decided to book as a passenger as i've got slight rubbing on fast road use and i have 2 holidays to pay for!

I am getting a little worried about this track day now with only 11 people officially paid up at this point as drivers. I stuck my neck out to secure a rotary only day with the help of my friend Jay that runs Magnitude Events, but he needs more cars to break even. I know we still have three months to go but I thought there would be more interest in something like this due to the intimate format.

I'm hoping some of you with project cars actually get them together and can join as I was hoping to turn this into an annual event, but we may not get another chance to get a deal quite like this.

If i only didn't work such stupid, long, all over the place rotas i would be at this 100%. You can imagine the grief i have trying to organise family holidays and never get any of the deals

Yes, it is everywhere and I even succumbed to posting it on the FD Facebook pages.

If we can't get more numbers I will need to tell Jay to open it up to other cars to try to fill the slots.

I thought across the RX-7 and RX-8 clubs we would get at least 20 cars given it is good value and it's close to 7s Day anyway.

How strict are they on the 95db noise? That's probably a stumbling block for a lot of people. I'm 89 - 91 on idle, i can only image what it is a full chat with twin screamer pipes.

The RX8 lot managed to fill a 36 place private track day at Castle Combe last month. Defo the place to look to boost the numbers.

You have seen the post on there. It's even listed as one of their official club days and I'm not valid member. We have 3 or 4 RX-8s signed up right now.

I know. I find the current lack of interest quite surprising

They aren't that strict but I'd guess if you were like 110dB then it would be an issue. There is only one microphone on the whole circuit anyway so it's easy to dodge the meter at that part of the track.

I think it will fill up it's just still early days. I will book once my car is sorted which will hopefully be within a few weeks.

Update. Still looking for interested FD owners to join us on the track day.

People worried about noise should stop worrying. @jdmr_neil was there this past weekend and has 103 static and didn't trip the noise meter. Last year we had a Lotus Exige Cup 430 which has a static exhaust of 111 and that also didn't trip the noise meter. I wouldn't worry about it and would just come along. Blyton is known to not really care about noise since there is literally nothing around them anyway.

There is usually no "formal" static noise test at Blyton Park, but there is a drive-by noise mic, 20m from the circuit at "Twickers" bend, which trips at 95dBA. It's the main short straight and you should be able to dodge it with a short shift ahead of the next corner anyway.
