Was never a big fan of the OEM style washer and coolant bottles so also decided to go custom on them too just to make the engine bay a bit more.

I will maybe plate weld the OEM opening shut in the engine bay or buy some covers in the future.

Washer bottle w/ NB MX5 washer motor (old roots never die) LoL

Progressive build aha!!!!
haha good to hear. Even the stock engines go well with some boost. I got greedy and after 1100bhp i started snapping the blocks. 400bhp a nice sweet spot on stock enigne. Ive mapped one thats been 400bhp for 20k miles now. it just wont die

Off too Phil @ XDRMotor for full chassis, engine and charge harness. Thanks to Luke from Haltech from picking up the 7.

Hopefully three weeks from now the car will be fully up and running aha!!! :)

So far so good, Phil got all the engine loom done, full chassis interior loom, charge harness and all earth hooked up all with in two weeks.

I wanted to keep this car super period correct especially the interior, no crazy gauges, no Haltech display dash, nothing!!!!

Yes all the stuff is really helpful but to me keeping the cars feel as much OEM as possible was the goal which we have achieved so far.

All stakes work, OEM gauge cluster works using only the Haltech Nexus R3 which is super cool and really simplifies all the wiring.

LED upgrade on the RE lights, and all the extra wiring need for forced induction in the future LOL.

Phil really did a great job on this one!!!!

Running a little rough as we came across some problems inevitably, but just waiting to rectify them and hopefully upload a nice base map ready for me to drive home :)

Had to make full brand new break lines front to back as we had some issued with fueling, and just waiting on a new crank sensor as we had some issues keeping the engine alive but other than that everything else looks good to go.

Oh yeah also passed MOT with flying colors aha

Had the car back from Phil for about two weeks and must say even though its on a 'safety tune', this thing flies. Always a smile on my face as soon as the pedal goes down LMAO :)

130 miles from Salisbury and didn't skip a beat. As well as the thrashing I give it every other day I have the chance aha.

Had some time so I started to deep clean the car inside out, quite a lot of new OEM parts were added after accumulating over the last two years and yes to see it all come together is such a great feeling.

Got a new pre face bumper which will need to be sprayed in PZ black next week as well as the two front fenders and rear hatch. Hatch will also get all the spoiler, wiper and washer welded up.

Nearly at the end aha!!!

Dyno is booked in @ EFI Tuning on the 9th July, best in the game when it comes to K20 motors, cannot wait to see how what this car can do. hopefully I'm driving this thing back home instead of on the back of a transporter LOL.

Got to EFI Tuning for a tune and some dyno pulls. Got around 85% of the tune done before the hot side of things started to let go.

Did you DIY those seals?
Yes a bit scared at first tbf but got it done, the old seal ripped out all the sold adhesive out so was quite easy to install. Just got to make sure the channel and surface area is super clean as its only one shot lol. As they were in the box from Japan, all wrapped up, I laid it on the car with tap for a couple of days so the mold took shape before installing it. This helped a lot as all the twist and bends had come out by then.

Those seals are supposed to be installed with the screens out. They have a lip that sits around the screen.

Yh was also told that, but you can get away with it. Either the old seal was not fitted correctly or due to time it got damaged/ perished by the weather or when the body shop ripped it out, all the old adhesive came out all in one go leaving me with a very clean surface. Some residue removing was involved but was easy. I know what you mean about the lip, when installing it I made sure the bottom lip was seated in place before the top one for a sold seal. As it was my first time, I practiced installing it dry a couple of time LMAO.
