Hi..does anyone know how to remove the the rear shock bolt? Can't seem to work it out!

Stock a 14mm spanner in between the rubber and the metal bit of the shock to stop it spinning..

Thanks mate - it's what I thought but I thought I'd ask on here to makesure I'm doing the right thing. Thanks for the advice

Don't you need to remove the drop link completely? The bolt is too long to pop out with it attached to the anti roll bar. Unless I'm doing something wrong but I've never been able to get it out without doing that.

I also found using a plumbers torch to heat the nut up works great, saves your nuckles trying to wind the nut off a rusty thread 🤣

Yeh you just loosen that drop link on both sides. Then it slides out.

you can either loosen the drop link or if you undo the rear roll bar mounts behind the fuel tank you can get enough movement to get the drop link out of the shock. oh and its a 17mm spanner to hold the drop link still, not a 14mm.

I decided to grind it off..got the nut off.
I took the whole upper arm off from the car so I've now got the shock arm and link in one piece off the car.
The nuts now off the link but the f**ker (link) still won't slide out lol. It's doing my nut in! 🤣..
Should it just slide out now? Tried beating it through with a mallet and still won't budge. All I was trying to do was change the suspension lol.

Sounds like it's siezed in there mate, I've never had trouble getting them out so I may have just been lucky. Looks like you'll need a bit of heat or a press to get it going.

Just to add. Make sure you raise the whole back end of the car off the ground or you'll struggle getting it back in. I managed to snap one of themy because I didon't raisee the whole back end!

If the rear arms are not supported by anything it'll snag so lift the arms up to take tension off.

If you don't loosen both sides of the drop link then it can't move back enough to come out th hole.

Thanks guys. 2 Budweisers later and a hammer bashing did the trick. Was rusted to f**k!. Thanks for the help.

Putting it back in I had to raise it fully. Thanks for that. Time to move on to the next side now. Let's hope this side isn't as painful.

Cheers for the help

I had the same issue on another car, bolt siezed into the bushing, had to take the whole lot off and use a press to get it out.

Budweiser? 🤮
