Howdy Folks

I've currently got "F1" style mirrors on my FD but i also got a pair of ganador style mirrors that i got with the car.

The F1 type are dogshit and the passenger side one in particular is useless. The ganador style ones don't suit the car so i'm looking for inspiration

What aftermarket mirrors are about or do you guys think OEM ones would suit it better?

I'd probably go with Ganador ones on your car.

Those white ones you have are re-amemiya and don't suit imo.

They’re RE mirrors the ones that look like Ganadors

I vote get yourself some stock mirrors

The oems are pretty decent, I just thought the ganadors shape might fit with the rest of the kit better.

I put heating elements on my glass and wired them into my rear defroster when I sprayed my car. Quite nice having heated mirrors on the FD. Might be worth doing while it's apart fitting new mirrors if you'd find it handy.

Sorry might be slightly off topic from thread, but do you have any guides on how to do this for the FD? Forum search and google comes up empty...

I didn't make a guide at the time. My mate wants it done to one of his FD's though so maybe I'll make one when doing that install.

I just bought some generic mirror heater pads off eBay, think they were around £10 delivered. Get some similar sized to the FD glass or a bit smaller is fine.

They draw just under 30A so need a dedicated fused power feed. I used a relay to switch them on with the rear defroster circuit as you generally use them together and a lot of other cars are wired this way. Also I didn't want any aftermarket switches fitted.

To get wiring to the mirrors I used the normal route with the electric mirror harness. To remove the glass you need a heatgun to get the adhesive to melt and let go.

Works really well! Used mine on the way to work the other morning .

Also got an auto dimming mirror in the FD, can't be dealing without these kind of options these days. Thinking of fitting heating elements in my Recaros or is that taking it one step too far?.

Thanks that would be wicked. I like to think I could manage if I just winged it but I'd rather see someone do it first so I dont get any nasty suprises when everything is apart and undrivable haha
