Instagram Sellers Scammers

That may or may not be the case. They're probably both bellends. That said, the above is some bollocks that I've seen on FB and also on RX7club. I can't even work out what either of the two morons are going on about. Just reading that one post above gives me a headache.

With regards to Instagram and FB scammers. Yes both platforms are rife with scammers. My advice is, only buy from people you know or who can genuinely be vouched for. There are tell tale signs that most of the scammers have - fairly new accounts with limited profiles, stolen photos which look pixelated when enlarged, listings for items from various different cars. Ask for additional photos maybe with a pic of todays newspaper. And most if not all, want payment by means that have no protection. Let's be honest, no honest/trustworthy seller would offer an item for sale without some form of buyer protection. So if you are unsure, don't know the person or haven't dealt with them before, pay by Paypal goods and services. And as always, if it looks too good to be true, it probably is.

Exactly that! I always offer fb buyers the option of paying by goods and services!
When I bought a bike frame last year, the seller sent out the frame and told me when it arrives then pay him! I thought that was truly bonkers of the person as they were leaving themselves wide open to be bent over and bummed

Conversely, I only tend to offer bank transfer or cash on collection as it is easy for a PayPal buyer to say they never collected/received the part and get a refund, leaving you with no money or parts. Unless something has changed in recent years? I think this is why ebay now use collection codes, to prove you collected an item.

I agree. There is no better option than paying up front after the item is checked by the buyers.

Just send the item with tracking and signature with appropriate insurance, there's limited way for a buyer to make a claim if you have signatures . Just being cheap on the shipping. Worst case if it really is lost then you can claim the value from courier.

Collection, get them to sign a collection receipt and take a picture of photo id.

Hardly complicated! And if needed you can file small claims case against them and report to police if necessary as you have their ID
