Headlight Retractor Rod?

Hi guys. Managed to break the plastic O-ring on my headlight retractor rod whilst rebuilding the motor. Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cheap and quick? I have a friend who has the retractor arm from a MK1 MX5; are these the exact same?

You get the rod as a part with the clips on etc
