Hi guys, i have a crunch when driving hard going into 4th & a very loud crunch when slowing down at lights going into 1st (unless iv stopped). Before buying a gearbox i want to put some new gearbox oil in, what grade do you recommend? Also do you think its worth me trying redline lightweight shockproof? Anyhelp would be great! Thanks, mike

Slowing from 2nd to 1st or coasting and into 1st crunch is pretty normal tbh. It can be reduced to an extent through new oil.

The 4th gear crunch although does sound like a problem though

Thanks for a fast reply mate, what grade oil would you recommend i try?

Have to be careful with gearbox oil, FD box has brass components so certain types don't go well. Think it's GL5 that's bad.

I got the decline mt90 75w90

You should avoid changing into first unless you are stopped mate. Unfortunately I don’t think an oil change is going to help your fourth gear issues
