Garage and tuner Recommendations

Hi,

Looking for a recommendation for a Garage as local as possible to Guildford that can complete an RX7 project.

Car is currently in need of aftermarket ECU fitting, tuning, some other bits and pieces.

Staying local: in Guildford there is Andy Tappenden at http://www.amt-fordmazda.co.uk, he hasn't worked on my FD but he did a job on the wife's MX-5 a few years ago. A bit further away Chris at RE:Worx in Portsmouth. For tuning, I recommend Marco Del Toro, he uses Surrey Rolling Road in Farnborough.

I used re:worx a number of years back on a previous RX7 for a small diagnostic job, glad they are still about.

AMT - Never heard of them and never realised we had an experienced RX7 garage so close by, thanks for that, I am going to give them a ring

Rotor torque are fairly close to you. They're a LINK dealer so getting a solid ECU won't be a problem and they're very well respected all around (including mapping). @Stu Rotortorque

id also suggest using a company because they are good, not just because they are local

I previously used WGT for a few jobs, I won't go into details. But there is a reason I have travelled or had the car trailered 180 miles to Stu @Rotortorque - it's not just the workmanship it's the communication and the advice, he won't upsell you on stuff you do not need like other specialists / tuners.

Andy Tappenden has closed AMT and sadly left the motor trade. He now works as an electrucian I believe. A sad loss to the rotary world. He maintained my car for many years since Rotechniks shut.

Hi - not sure if you're still looking but my mechanic who I've been using for years on some of my classics is going back to specialising in rotary engines. He's not done rotary for me but has done complete rebuilds on RX7's in the past. He's been rebuilding a Rolls Royce engine for me and I can highly recommend him. Southern Rotary based in Woking Surrey.

Never used him myself but only heard good things and he's round the corner from you
