FB Rotary - Owner Frank Biggs

Hasn't Frank re opened? I thought he was 'Turbo Charmer' now? 4B, Chase Farm Units, North Weald Bassett, Harlow CM16 6AL
I went to see him regularly for different bits...again seemed like a really nice guy...great intentions.....but as pointed out he struggled with time keeping, knowledge and accurate costs..
I took an engine there (because he is local to me) to be 'refreshed'. He had it for a few months (no big deal as it was my spare engine) and I wanted to learn how to rebuild a rotary. Alarm bells went off when he said he 'aims' for 10:1 compression on fresh builds...think new cars had about 8.5-8.7:1 from Mazda factory. I went there at the date we had organised for him to show me how to put it together and there was no one there. Called him 15 times while I wait in the car for 2 hours....he came and said he was closing.....I'm glad I persisted and got my engine back....or so I thought.
He had sold(or kept) my good irons and gave me a mixed set which Era noticed later upon inspection had been filled with metal putty because someone had ported it to far and had gone into the water jacket. He didn't know where my parts were, he gave me the different irons, housings...they where usable and a box of bits......took them to Era (I didn't know about Stu & Jay back then) and the first thing he said was 'Wheres the rest of it?'
Lesson learnt....

Ahh mate I feel for you man. I've been here before and it was an awful experience.
I had no idea he had reopened!
I had a similar thing he said to me. Bought a housing in good condition which he inspected himself....then he told me a few weeks later he should not have trusted the member he bought it from as the housing wasn't in good condition and that he would fix it himself!

When Tim took my engine apart he said all the oil control rings were badly worn...implying they were never replaced with new ones when Frank built the engine! He's just a smooth talker imo! Probably one of those guys who once built a rotary in his shed while watching a youtube video and thought I can make a business out of this...but cant build a rotary to save his life and ultimately his lack of knowledge and incompetence has caused a lot of financial damage to a lot of rotary owners... and killed the passion for many!

Unfortunate that all you guys have had such terrible experiences with this guy. Im really pleased you have all took your time to post these experiences as it helps any other, possibly less knowledgeable owners avoid such issues.

This should be the case. I believe the good guys keeping the rotary community alive with genuine builds, expertise and knowledge should be highlighted so more of us get the correct advice and end up with longer lasting engines etc.....and the ones who are shit brought to light so fellow fd owners dont waste their hard earned money and time!

Specially in this day and age...all positive and negative builds should be documented so more rotary owners can keep their rotary dreams alive...

This here is what FDOC is all about. Take a look at the largest RX7 forum, they force traders to pay and have daft rules like 'dont link to any other RX7 forums'. Their entire forum is littered with rules that create a closed eco system.

Come here and advertise for nothing but don't expect a cover up if your product/service is shit. Having a closed eco system like that leads to more people being burned.

We have such a good mix of people and knowledge here. From people who tinker, specialists and those people who solo it and smash 26psi and long may that continue.

The community and cars should always come first, if you see good information on another forum/facebook and it helps a member out then link to it. If you have a good or bad experience then share it.

Has anyone managed to find him, I can’t give up looking for him as he pretty much stole my money, and I’m not the type of bloke that will give up.

The car is now going up north with my skyline, rb motorsport are mapping and setting up the skyline and they have a reliable company they use to take a look at the Rx7. Then maybe I can look at the Rx7 without feeling like I want to cry.

No, that was his first place, he then moved and became fbrotary. Then moved again when it went tits up, he’s now working for another place, just waiting to confirm exactly where, then he will receive the door knock!

Long shot, anyone had any news. I’ve got a friend of a friend who knows where he is, but he won’t give him up as he’s good mates with him.
