Downpipe fabrication options

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of any fabrication shops in the midlands or southeast that could make a 3” single turbo downpipe for a decent price. I was quoted £550 for a custom one with my wastegate recirculated...just trying to compare prices.

No suggestions from me sadly, but I'd highly recommend going 3.5", or even 4" if you can (depending on what power you're chasing). If you're set on 3", at least run a silenced screamer (bit of an oxymoron I know), but doesn't take a big or bulky silencer to keep it quiet. Keep post-turbine exhaust backpressure to an absolute minimum - will help with spool, power, torque and reliability.

Paul from Mattin Motorsport would be able to make you something. He does loads of custom pieces.
He is in Nottinghamshire in the East Midlands if that's any good to you?

I honestly don’t have the cash laying around to redo my entire exhaust system, I’d rather just have a DP made to fit my current setup. Maybe one day though!

Local exhaust place did mine for a few hundred
It's not a complicated piece. It's just a big S shape.

550 quid is a rip off price tho mate.

You know, I was expecting something more like £2-350 but something as simple as a DP shouldn’t cost that much. This did include having the external wastegate replumbedthough. I may end up just having Julian fab me a new turbo mani and use the existing DP as i need to swap the eBay mani anyways

Try Torqueflow exhausts in Sparkhill, Birmingham. They were really useful in sorting a small patch of rust on near the centre box on my CTR. And very reasonable.

My tame engineer charged me about £50 to do all the finished welds on mine after I'd spotted it in place. It's a much better way of doing it as you'll know it fits.

If your exhaust builder doesn't have a jig already made (and none bar TGS probably will) then they'll need to do it on the car. Tbh £500 for a one off doesn't sound that dear to me for the work that's involved.

Talk to stu at rotortorque they had a local place fab me one up for a great deal less than that and fit it.
