Hi all,

So, I opened up the door lock mechanism today (my other thread about "sticky door handles" https://fdoc.co.uk/forum/threads/st...rrel-how-to-make-less-sticky.3817/#post-38082) and "squirted" some graphite powder in and the mechanism is a lot smoother now (thanks @JoeLanger for the hint).

Interestingly, when I put everything back together, the door now doesn't open from the outside.

The handle moves and is much freer than before, it locks and unlocks from the outside, locks and unlocks from the inside and I can open it from the inside but I can't open the door from the outside, any ideas?

I know @jack.am had a similar issue but I figured mine was different hence the new thread.

Thanks in advance

So, I've just taken the door mechanism off and found that the door handle (the bit you pull) has cracked around the pivot point causing excess play which is why the mechanism isn't working - it's all in the door handle.

Anyone know of any replacement options?

I've seen that Aluminum ones exist so I may have to get something from the states.

What about carbon fibre FEED ones?

You can bodge them with JB Weld short term. Long term I’d get the aluminium ones if you can, the FEED cf stuff is just an overlay I think.
