CX Racing

Saying that a lot of their products look similar to some of the Chinese shit on eBay...

Aren't they just another company branding up Chinese generica?

I think you're right for the most part. Think he mocks up various parts and outsources. Some of the Audi boys complained about iffy fitment

One of my local rotary friends had a CX turbo on his FD. Response was good and we were impressed with the output/potential but it seemed too good to be true with the price. Funnily enough, it didnt last quite a year before the exhaust impeller broke up. Personally i see them as branded Chinese turbos.

CX Racing Turbos definitely used to be Chinese turbos, no idea if they still are.
And yeah, Some is very similar to RW. And there's definitely some RW stuff that bears a striking resemblance to AliExpress type items.

Their gilmer set in particular is the same as the £90 Chinese ones, but double the price.

sounds about right.

Reason i ask about them is the side mount inter-cooler with all the ducting and special air box looked quite thought through....tho i recognize the box from somewhere.

Chunky ancillary tooth belt kit looked interesting too.

To use that you'll need to change your engine front cover for a TII one with the older water pump and modify the sump to fit, then delete the power steering and aircon. Lots and lots of work just to go "wwwhiiiirrrrrrrrrrrrrr" when you rev.

yeah, this. I have a gilmer kit in my box of bits, and even without a water pump it will take a shed load of work to fit- wont work with standard/ aftermarket FD CAS because the trigger wheel is in the way, and even with a side mount alternator the pulleys don't line up. iTBH it is too much work for something that give no meaningful benefit apart from fueling my inner max max fantasy.
