Hi all,

I'm having issues with my RX7 FD.

At WOT in 1st, 2nd and 3rd it breaks up/ miss fires in high rpms (second turbo). It works fine in 4th and 5th at WOT.

I check boost and AFR in the lower gears when it starts to happend but they all appear good. No signs of boost creep, unless the ECU detects it before I can see it?

I'm thinking it might be boost creep and that it's happening when the engine is creating boost more quickly at lower speeds.

Any help or suggestions would be great.

Cheers J

Have you checked your plugs and tested your leads and coils? The specs they need to meet are in the FSM.

I assume the car is running a midpipe being on a redom type b?

Plugs.

I would also budget for a new ecu at some point as those pre mapped ecu's leave a lot of unknowns

Redoms are amazing if you stay within what they are mapped for. Way better than a PFC as long as you don't deviate from the tuned mods, especially if it's a later 16 bit ecu, those are fantastic for a twins fd.

A type B is a know entity and will cope with all bolt on mods and is usually set to 1 bar on primary and 0.9 on secondary (if different it'll say on the sticker). A type A is similar but keeps the emissions systems, cat, air pump etc. A type C is custom and then I'd agree with Neil, unless you are the one that bought it originally and gave re-a the specs, could be anything in one of those.
