Anyone had their BBS LM's refurbished?

What did you go for?

I have had a price to referb them but its too much. I want to either have a go myself, but not sure on the bolts and splitting etc OR sell them and get some simpler wheels i can paint myself again here at my factory.

Anyone fitted RX8 R3 wheels?

What looks best on the RX7?

You could try this guy, he does all my body work. Very reasonable, can wet paint, powdercoat and diamond cut wheels. His company is in Birmingham

Fyse is a top guy. Even if you want to sell the BBS's it's worth having a chat with him as he'll likely know someone that may be interested in them.

So what sort of quotes are you getting?. I need some split rims refurb too. So far I got a quote of c£350.

That's breaking them apart myself.

As for the value of the wheels, that depends heavily in widths and offsets.

I think the tyres are 235 45 17 on front and 255 40 17 on rear.

£350 sounds about right if you split them yourself. Depends on lip polishing too I think.

I paid about £100 per wheel I think for my splits, that was lips polished, barrels sprayed black, and centres sprayed red.
I split them and put them back together myself. This takes a lot of time.
I also sand blasted them myself.

That feels a little steep if you had to blast them yourself too, but my quote was for painted lips, not polished. I am getting another quote this weekend for a place that powder coats them.

When you consider the time for polish and the two different colours (I went to two different painters just coz) it's not a bad price.

I got the centres painted with some other stuff so don't know exact price, but the barrels got done at a wheel place, they would have charged £100 for two diff colours, would have been less for all the same.
also splitting and rebuilding takes AAGEES

I concur on the splitting taking ages. I used a dak dak gun too. Each rim has 40 bolts .

I only did MS01's with 27 bolts, it took easy 30 mins to assemble and torque up each wheel. Awkward as well back was killing after each wheel!
prob the same to dismantle too. There's half a day right there

These are my wheels BTW I'm in two minds to freshen them up or sell them and get something else
Temped by these RX8 wheels, but they are a bit on the skinny side I think

Mine where MS01 two peice, BBS LM's are 3 peice aren't they? So you have to seal them on the faces between each 3 parts.
But they're just nuts and bolts so just fasten opposites.
M7 so torque to 25Nm
