Hi.
Apologies as I can't appear to search the forum before asking a question that's possibly already been answered.
The car returns next week from Tim Whites and I need new tyres as the 17" Toyos on there are over 20 years old! So looking for make compound recommendations for road use arounder in wet and dry. Looking to drive the car to events more than track use.
Cheers Darrel

I think the general consensus is that Eagle F1s are slightly more grippy in the dry, but slightly less in the wet. I think they do wear relatively quickly, but then they are cheaper than PS4s. I would be happy with either (currently got F1s on my RX7).

I got some DOT XX22 Cup2 connects from Ebay for basically PS4/5 money, not fitted yet, but expecting greatness

Been on PS4 and now PS5 (non S's) on the daily for a few years, and they have been pretty epic to be fair, definitely one of the best all rounders I've ever had.

Hoping the Cups will be even better, like Federal RSR and better good lol (not the best R comps I know, but still better that a ps4/5)
Wet grip isn't that much of a concern, nice to know it's going to be better than the Hankooks on it now though.

+1 for PS4’s too. Great in wet and dry.

Are you guys meaning standard PS4's or PS4S's ?

Assuming normal PS4 yeh lol?

A mate put PS4S's on his M5, we did Brands hatch indy on them the other day and they were easily as good, or better than the Pirelli Pzero whatevers that it had on before.

They look a bit more aggressive/slick that the normal 4's too, so with how they performed I'm calling that proof the 4S's are a step over the 4's too etc.

Thanks for the heads up.. 255 Michelin PS4/S is currently out of stock for 10 weeks.
After 20 years off the road what's another 10 weeks 🤣

Dunno if they do them in your sizes but Continental Sport Contact 7s are my go to now - got them on them on all my cars. Fuck michelin and their pricing/stock. Or failing that Eagle F1 Assymetric 5 or 6 are also both great.

I know what you mean. I run continental and Michelin cross climate in the winter on my daily driver so happy with both. I'll do a bit more searching cheers. Son in law wants it for his wedding car in 10 days time so will hopefully sort something.

Can only see Contact 6. There are so many close number versions of tyres these days. Showing my age here 🤣

Hankook V12 K120 Evo 2's if you can get them, used to be reasonably priced until AUDI made them tyre supplier for their new cars and thus increasing the price. They are not that economical in terms of wear due to high grip in the dry / warmer weather but they boast an A rating in wet grip, which is needed in the UK and an NVH rating of 70db which is pretty low given the roads in this country.

That's great. It's the sort of detail that's very useful. As I have a number of cars the tyres rarely get warn out but are replaced due to age 😬
