Belt Sanders aren't that flat.
Would be better lapped we had a small mapping machine that would fit that at college.

I haven’t tested it, but that’s a reality I’m not willing to face. It’s a proper Garrett rear housing so you’d like to think it wouldn’t warp, though it did come from a cooked turbo...

Just out of curiosity, is your turbine housing warped/used? I have a turbo that turns out to have a warped housing including a warped vband flange. Maybe you can have that sanded as well...mine is leaking and warped badly so I’m just going to replace my turbine housing and be done

He did it as a freebie, not sure I can get him to lap it for free. It took the major high spot off anyway.

My turbonetics housing was warped, and I was told by Owen Developments that it is possible for some turbine housings to warp if they’ve been exposed to rotary EGTs for extended periods of time (after a few years)

Out with the old

Reason to change was for more modern injectors all around and a simpler install. Really want to tidy up that loom and clean the engine casing too.

Also started to sand back the peeling lacquer on my bonnet to repaint, got bored and ordered an orbital sander.

So what was supposed to be just swapping fuel rails has ended up stripping the entire engine back and cleaning every nook and cranny, replacing the UIM and LIM with soda blasted ones, new idler pulley, single turbo loom and hardlining my boost solenoid.

Today fitted the rails:

FPR, damper and fuel pressure sensor all built into the rails. I’ll replace that PTFE line with a hardline when I get the chance, will be much neater. Then it’s just feed and return.

Was gonna say about those PS coolers. Does it get that hot that a water cooler will work? In my head I can only to see it as a power steering warmer.

I'm not sure, I don't have one at all at the minute and the reservoir gets real hot. Planning on putting it on the outlet of the rad.

Yeah after posting that I did think outlet of the rad would be much cooler. Defo better than none at all.

Might get one myself. Like you say much easier to mount somewhere
