Fast road geometry setup?

Ok so I’ve done some googling for local companies and found one with a decent rep and one of these Hunter machines.
Question is, is there an ideal or agreed upon setup I could take with me for a fast road setup or is it best to just advise the garage of what I want and go from there?

This is a good start

I just recently did the whole hunter alignment. I told the guy what i used the car for (track) and he just cracked on and set it up. He also did suspension settings etc. He was great and very knowledgeable but he does track set ups daily so should be really.

I left with 1 degree camber on the front and a whole load of other figures on my print out. I'd dig it out but I'm not home for a few weeks yet.

I would just tell him what you want from the car and let him loose.

Brilliant thanks both, Ive no idea about anything geometry wise so I’ll Be going there blind really, nice to have some idea what to expect

@MKZ7212 is that a road or track setup

Have you read the Howard coleman thread on RX7 club?

If you can find a good garage then that's fine. It appears increasingly hard to find anywhere knowledgeable and trust worthy thoigh.

My concern is finding somewhere trustworthy. I thought I'd found somewhere once, old tinterweb threads of good reviews, gave them a call and sounded nice enough on the phone, pencilled an appointment in for me next Thursday, I then kept looking on the net and came across a few horror reviews for them that totally put me off, not sure what I'm going to tell them when I phone to cancel the pencilled app.
Found a different garage now, no doubt I could find negative reviews of those if I looked hard enough. They do a lot of work with jap cars but rx7s are few and far between around here so I don't know if they would have had much dealings with them.

I haven't seen the thread on RX7 club, I'll try to dig that out now, thanks.

The garage i used had never had an rx7 in before and were keen to have a look at the geo. With that said though they do have a lot of experience setting up track and competitive race cars.

Sometimes you just have to go in for a penny, if they are rubbish don't go back.

i found that my car turned into a bit of a dich finder. i think its because ive put the front top arms on the wrong way around so my caster is mental!

Centre gravity up in Coventry are hands down imo the best people to take your car to for geometry. They can do a basic alignment all the way up to full race car alignment. They are super friendly and frequently setup track cars so have a wealth of knowledge behind them. They offer a full in depth alignment where they take your car for a day and adjust absolutely everything from the camber, caster, toe settings to ride height, dampening settings, corner weight balancing, arb adjustments (if adjustable). Great guys!

Just tell them you can't make it now as work has called you in and not sure when you're free next so you'll ring another day to rearrange ?
You worry too much si! Just tell them you wanna see how it's done and tell them you wanna hang around if you're worried about your car! If they say no then tell them you don't want them to do it! Not being funny but when it comes to my car and the work I've put into him I'm pretty anal about who I'm leaving him with!

That sounds like a good place to go. I have a mate that has already been to two places around here and both times they got the numbers wrong (Scooby)

Here's a link to that thread I was talking about. There's alot in there and I can't say I know who this guy is, but he appears to have a lot of practical knowledge.

ONE thing that might be worth considering though is the ride height for speed bumps here in the UK.

I set mine up as per Howard Colemans advice in the thread above, feels decent (y). Probably a little more on the aggressive side for road use, but I don't commute in the FD, she's driven for fun.

Thanks again all,
I don’t use mine to commute anywhere so that sounds good, I may take it with me just as an idea to see how close it is to what they come up with.
Yea I know Nige, I can’t help worrying trusting other people that I don’t know, last thing I want is any loose nuts after leaving more than anything, I’m going to go over to indigo GT in Merthyr after work Monday and see them about doing it

After reading Coleman's thread i used a friends place and ended up with this. Not quite his specs but I've been pretty happy with it

That seems like a lot of toe, and whats the caster?

I still haven’t had it done.
I can remember speaking to them on the phone but never found the time to go over there and ended up spending the money else where (RC cars 🙈😖).
Car doesn’t get used much in the winter so thought I’d wait untill this year to get it sorted, would be interested to hear how you get on if you go to indigo tho 👍🏻

I went for stock settings but improved on my bushes and suspension. I'm super confident. Car is balanced and predictable.
