Up to date Brake recommendations for fast road/ track?

With or without ABS? Have been wondering whether to keep or ditch mine... But unlike most drivers my reactions are too slow to pump 😂

Cheap way to get big brakes. Quick google suggests the piston sizes on the Civic Brembos are 40mm compared to 36.1mm dia, so that gives an additional 23% bias to the front (and longer travel pedal) before you include the additional force with the much larger discs. In theory the car will take longer to stop, especially in the wet. This is the challenge with most big brake kits. Stoptech address this, but the last time I looked don't go bigger than 332mm for the FD.
Looks like the pistons are actually 38mm going by the ones I have here. Will 2mm over the stock 36mm make much difference?

Stoptech disks and pads (from tarmac sportz) if you want to stay stock callipers. I know a lot of the jdm tuning houses keep the stock callipers and run a big disc conversion but to be honest they are one lap masters so brake fade is less of an issue.

I personally went compbrake via RE:Worx for front and it was banging for the money on a fast road/seni track car

Cheers Sturney!

Thanks for replying.

I'm on my second set of stoptech pads and rotors. Although I've lost track of who was supplying them these days. Last time I bought two sets through tegiwa. But they don't offer them anymore I don't think

Bit to unpack here. I didn't realise anyone was spacing out the stock front calipers or if it was even possible.

I was originally looking at Julian's 360mm bbk using the Honda type r calipers with the rz rears. Quite like that you have broad pad selection and not just track focused ones you often get with other BBKs.

Do you know the piston sizes in this comp brake set up?

How did it feel?

Was the pedal travel changed much?

How was the balance like?

Cheers

I was running stoptech rears at the time but found the balance good. Pedal felt as before (I’d fitted braided lines all round previously) had to change them as the stock were too wooden before when braking hard and could often lock up -stock fd abs isn’t known for being fantastic.
I’d probably say it was a much more progressive pedal after, rather than all or nothing.
Sorry can’t recall piston size, but if I recall correctly it was a 356mm 6 pot kit that fitted lovely under 18’s

Has anyone got any experience with the advocult kit? No idea who makes them for him, but Tom always seems to knock out great quality stuff. Just don’t know of anyone running them.

They look incredibly similar to the Ceika kits which get good reviews
