Boot Heavy duty boot gas struts

Update, for some unknown reason the rods are not taking anymore than 300N.

I have opted for new set of struts they offered, this meaning they will come at 700N and I can release the pressure with an alan key in second increments aparently.

Just thought I'd post an update. Finally got them back from SGS they ended up sending me 500N none adjustable ones...

They work though! Maybe a touch on the too much side but gives breathing room if I ever went mad and swapped the 99spec wing for a big carbon wing.

Awesome info dude, Im gonna do a buy and go for the 500N or 700n ones.

500 is plenty for my setup, did the weekly shop yesterday and was nice to just dump the bags in the boot rather than juggle bags and hold up the boot at the same time!

Amazing, that's a lot of winning. So now with the 500n does the boot open by itself when you trigger the boot release cable?

Yup pops open like a normal car!

I was expecting to receive 700N as that's what they told me they'd send but got non adjustable 500N.... If you do go down the 700 route I'd express thats exactly what you need. (To be honest 500 will probably be fine for a wing too so long as it's not made of iron)

Honesty wasn't the best experience but have ended up getting what I need so can't complain too much.

I got there in the end as well, took 3 attempts though. ended up with a pair at 600Nm each, lifts up my wing with a total weight of 9.5kg (Steel Uprights) with No wiper motor in the hatch and the Parcel shelf. Lifts it up nicely of the latch. Just for future ref if anyone else is ordering.

How do you find closing the boot with 500nm? I have some replacements on my 330i, though admittedly just eBay ones, and you’re almost fighting against them to close it.

My fd needs new ones or I need to wear a hard hat when in the boot hah
