E92 M3 6 speed manual or 7 speed DCT - The supercharged e92 M3s produce between 625- 650bhp and over 410lb ft and the stock boxes can handle this all day long.
or
The F80 DCT gearbox if you want ultimate peace of mind. Unless. you are running a turbo 20b or 26b... a 13b will not make the torque required to break this box.
Benefit of the DCT box...as fast as a seq box with none of the harsh nvh /whine or maintenance.
What rpm have you used to calculate speed. Top speed of 28mph in 1st makes it a pretty pointless gear.
Actually thinking about it might be good if you've got a high idle on a bridge or something easier the drive on the road, in traffic, as it be going slower. Rather than letting the clutch off and doing 20mph instantly
I’ve got the e92 box. About to embark on this shit show. By my calculations it should be fine to use with a 4.1 final drive. 265/18 tyre and revving to 9500 because anyone doing this won’t be stopping at 7500rpm.
Tyre Circumference = 2019.1 mm
1st Gear = 58.72 km/h - 36.41 mph
2nd Gear = 96.79 km/h - 60.01 mph
3rd Gear = 133.67 km/h - 82.87 mph
4th Gear = 175.44 km/h - 108.77 mph
5th Gear = 215.93 km/h - 133.87 mph
6th Gear = 233.92 km/h - 145.03 mph
7th Gear = 280.7 km/h - 174.04 mph

So you want a DCT... Chapter 1
The world is a crazy enough place, and now you want to swap a 7-speed transmission that shifts in 50 milleseconds or into the car in your garage you call a "project car" as an excuse for it never being done? Well...we agree, that sounds like a great idea! So what is a DCT and why is it so...www.seemslegitgarage.com

DCT Bible, Chapter 2- Transmission Hardware
So now that we went over how capable the DCT is, let's go over how you're going to get it in your car!Transmission VersionsThe BMW 7-Speed DCT, aka the GS7D36SG, comes in four versions. They are essentially the same except for gear ratio and bell-housing combinations. They all feature the same...www.seemslegitgarage.com

DCT Bible, Chapter 3: Control
So now that we know more about the BMW/Getrag Dual Clutch Transmission from chapters one and two, we can further learn how to control all the spinning gears and clutch packs. Currently, the best way to do that is with the HTG GCU (Gearbox Control Unit). The GCU is a transmission controller that...www.seemslegitgarage.com
What diff are you going to use?Good info on there, Me and my engine builder are going for the F80 DCT conversion for a number of reasons...but also for the top speed and the gearboxes theoretical vmax of over 200mph.....which we can test out at a vmax event next year and also the higher torque limit...not that my car will ever make the torque required to break this box.
I dont have an engine build that revs to 9500rpm and i suspect many probably wont....but mine will go to 8000rpm before the turbo becomes a limit. However its more likely my TO4Z runs out of air well before 8krpm.
What setup are you running to make power at 9500rpm?
What diff are you going to use?
Keeping the standard diff. Got a hpp diff brace on it and gonna add some strength to it for the ppf delete.
Sounds very interesting. Do you know what gearbox controller you are using and does it link via the engine ecu aswell?Good info on there, Me and my engine builder are going for the F80 DCT conversion for a number of reasons...but also for the top speed and the gearboxes theoretical vmax of over 200mph.....which we can test out at a vmax event next year and also the higher torque limit...not that my car will ever make the torque required to break this box.
