I've heard nothing but good things, but not from a lot of sources. I'm taking my car there next weekend, and I've been screwed over pretty hard recently. I've spoken to them and they sounds really knowledgeable so I;m fairly confident.

But after my recent experiences I'd really like to hear a confirmation of this.

Cheers

I'd be interested to know as they are very local to me. I do most things myself but would be good to know that there's somewhere local I can go if something needs doing that is a bit more specialist.
I've heard they are a bit hit and miss, but that's from a very small number of reviews

Same here.... I've spent most of the winter doing everything I can myself.... Next job is sort the engine out :(

Martin at super 7 has been around a long time and personally I've never heard a bad word said, which is uncommon in rotary circles.

With that said, I've never met the guy or had any dealings but on what I've heard i wouldn't have an issue.

I’ve had no issues with super7 and in my opinion, they (along with WGT) would seem to be the most professionally run as a business. They’re not a fly by night outfit and I’ve always had good dealings with Jason. If something wasn’t right, he’s always been fine to sort it and his timeframes have been decent

I always make an inventory of my car parts before I take it anywhere for the first time. In terms of Super7, I have not heard or seen any high powered FD build by them. I hope you are only going there for other work than having to build to a boosted engine/ mapping? I rate more; Oldone, jay and stu, garage reg for high performance related work. I have heard mixed reviews about them.

Not everyone goes to a specialist to have their engines ported to the max (or beyond), strap on a turbo from a medium sized commercial aircraft and then have it mapped to 3 bar of boost.
Some people just want to have their car maintained or have a stock replacement engine. I’m not sure I’d base my entire opinion of a specialist on whether they were able to build a 1000 hp car or not.

My FD had a ton of receipts from super7 when I bought it and a recent rebuild by them (i'm not home to post exact dates of rebuild to failure). I took it to WGT not long after I had it as it seemed to be mapped very rich and on inspection was really down on compression. I ended up having a rebuild and mapping from WGT, pip eluded that the map seemed to be masking issues.

Now I cant say any of this was there doing or if it was how the car was treated.

He basically stole £3,500 from me a few years ago and can't tune to save his life. Our recent dyno day at Jamsport proved that as two Super 7 cars couldn't even finish their dyno pulls. One was running so pig rich it fouled the plugs just driving to the dyno day on the motorway, and another was a basically stock car tuned at 0.8 bar which ended up with issues afterwards.

From me personally, fuck that guy Jason.

Is there not a Martin there? He imports cars too? Not sure if I've confused this dude with someone else.

Still these are what company reviews are great for, especially when done properly like this seems to have been. I hadn't heard anything bad about super7 but it seems quite a few have. This makes potential customers choices easier and tradesman care what goes out the door.

I agree Neil. Granted there's often 2 sides the a story, and some customers can be just as questionable/unreliable. However there are some horror stories out there about various traders and there isn't enough honest feedback out there. Given the nightmare I had with my single conversion, I wish I had heard other people's experiences before hand, rather than effectively forming a support group with similarly impact people after it happened...

I've been screwed over pretty hard recently.

In the spirit of the above... who screwed you over previously?

Don't hold back now Roy

I took mine to them to get it through a MOT as it had been dry stored for 10+ years and never been ok a UK road. They took it to get MOT'd to see what was needed and then worked through the list.

£3.5k later (I was told that was cash price and to have a receipt they would have to charge an extra 20%, they wouldn't even write down what they'd done!) I got my car back with a MOT, they had to replace the heater matrix as it blew on their dyno and fitted a used Apexi ECU to tune.

Whilst tuning I was told that the engine wasn't from a FD and likely to have come from a bus (Google said only 44 of these buses ever existed so highly unlikely) and the ports must be tiny as they couldn't tune past 4k....

The car came off the dyno with a leak at the back of the engine and I was given the keys. I managed to nurse it back from Worthing to Winchester and every drive after that it had overheating issues, a few weeks ago we looked to convert to manual from auto and in taking the old box off we found a hole in the rear iron.

If you want to see the work they did feel free to look up my MOT history (L865WGF) and read the points, a lot of the work was adjusting a few things etc.

Oh and finally, just prior to dropping my car off with them I bought a new plastic trim in the engine bay, not sure what its called but its front and centre in a standard car (in front of the intercooler). I have never seen it since dropping the car off and they said it never had one when it arrived.

In short; I'm now going to Pip at WGT and not only will I not go back to super 7 I would actively discourage anyone else from using them.

I worked on a car was rebuilt at super 7 autos there was a badly collapsed / crinked fuel delivery line to the rails. I think that's probably why it blew up on the Dyno.

Ive heard bad stuff about everyone pretty much.

The only two guys I never heard anything bad about is colum from @garageREG and Era from oldone racing.

Personally I'd speak with Colum before you took it anywhere and see hows he's fixed.

This ^^^

Oldones are winchester based though, so that would be my first port of call given @Rich5660's location.
