Just wanting to get prepaired for a single turbo conversion at the end of the year as im going to be having my engine built and street ported in February.

Ive found a secondhand single turbo kit on ebay which turbonetics to4z apprently.

I want quickish spool and around 4-500bhp.

I know im going to need other things such as .

Fuel pressure regulator.
Secondary injector rail.
1650 injectors?
Walbro gst450 fuel pump.

Maybe water meth ?

what do you guys recommend and if ive missed something please feel free to add to the list 😁

the car isnt driven much but hopeing after the build to get out more and to more meets.

as said im just looking to accumulate parts ready for the end of the year.

thanks
tj

I would personally go bosch for the fuel pump. Can't stand the noise of whinebros. Definetly get water kit it's essential imo, my intake temps actually drop while boosting. Get a triumph sensor or ecu won't know about the sudden changes in temp. What IC setup you got? Gonna want a good v or front mount. At those power levels your gonna want to doing ignition aswrll so aem coils or maybe a twin spark.

Ive got a front mount intercooler , apexi ecu ,full exhaust including race cat at the moment.

I havent bough a water meth kit yet but its definately on the cards any recomendations welcome as to which kit will be much appreciated 😊

What sort of bosch pump 044? I wanted an intank pump really if i can 😊

Thanks
Tj

I run a bosch 044 intank and it's great plenty enough fuel and quiet as a mouse.
Aem water kit is what I use, couldn't really comment on any of the others as haven't got experience with them.

This isn't a loaded question, just curious, how did you hear about Triumph sensors reacting quickly to temp changes?

Thanks guys also is that turbo any good for what im aiming for power and spool wise ?

I’m not sure that turbo is a t04z equivalent. Compressor looks too small and i don’t believe it’s BB. Looks more like a T04e or S equivalent.

Stock porting? Full boost around 4000-4500 RPM, and if you have enough fuel, water and boost then c.450bhp.

If it is an E or S equivalent then 350-420.

It’s not a case of it being no good. It’s more that I don’t believe it’s what he says it is. I might be talking complete crap but that manifold looks like the HKS cast version. If so, I don’t think those manifolds can take a t04z sized turbo. I tend to be sceptical of sellers who don’t know what it is that they have.

Isn't a Z just a ball bearing S? Been years since I last looked into singles, but I'm sure that was the case!

It must be a t04z equivalent being a Turbonetics as they don't make a t04Z IIRC?

The manifold is a cast HKS for sure.

Ask for the part number off the plaque.

I thought the Z was a BB T04R. I don’t think an R goes on that manifold in that space

I must admit i looked the turbo up and parts of this one advertised looked different to the t04z i seen online. Im quite new to owning a car with turbos and this forum is a real big help for times like this.

Thanks guys

Get the serial number off the turbo and speak to Ed. I’m sure he can give you the full SP.
I think for your goals and that sort of spend, you probably want an actual T04Z, GT35R, T04R or similar.

Compressor looks similar sized to my k27, if so that would put it in the to4s bracket. Quick spool and 400+bhp on a ported motor.

I dare say you could get close to 450bhp with plenty of boost but it would sit comfortable around 400-420bhp.

I got 380bhp on the fdoc dyno day if you wanted to have a look.

For 500hp you need to be thinking about spending money tbh as a £400 turbo kit is a risky way of getting there.

To be fair i dont mind spending the money on a decent turbo/manifold but if i can get a secondhand kit for a bargain id be interested.

I was looking at a kkk k27 kit that was forsale not long ago but it sold too quick for me to offer on it.

Quick spool is a must though im not really chasing numbers just want a bit more power now 😊
