Looking for some help, my cars rear brake lights stuck on.

I noticed a broken orange piece of plastic in my foot well, looks like it'a broken off from that part In the second picture.

The 2 pin connector is warm to the touch, BR70 code on it tells me it's the brake light switch.

Struggling to get the fucker out though, any tips?

Is this broken piece of plastic anything to do with the issue?
Do the brake light switches go bad often?

If it isn't the brake light switch what is likely the root cause of this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Should have read up more. Found a post on Rx7 club detailing the fix.

It's a bit confusing to me so I'll document it from my perspective (an idiot) for any future people with the same issue.

Though if anyone does have anything to add please drop it below.

Im pretty sure this happened to me the little bit of plastic the button presses on breaks off and then the brake lights are always on ,u could bodge something to make them temp work. But i think i may have a spare platic bush thing somewhere.

I dont think mazda sell them on their own .

So i bought one for a nissan which was identical think this is the part no. 46584-S0100
