Line Question - 2000 RS

Hi,

Just after a bit of assistance Got my 2000 RS yesterday from the port and was delighted to find that someone had stolen the Apexi ECU & controller during shipping.

Long story short I managed to get a Series 8 ECU and get the car running but it is now only boosting to 0.6 bar.

I have attached a photo of a blocked off vaccum line on the manifold and was wondering if someone can point me in the right direction of where this needs to be plugged. I'm not sure what has been removed from the engine bay during transport.

Hi that is usually plugged and used as a boost source for a gauge or boost controller etc iirc

Looks like it was probably like that in Japan. May have been for a boost gauge. Didn't realise they were as ballsy now to steal ECUs. Thats a massive shame

Yes I have imported plenty of things from Japan and first time anything has been stolen. They ripped out the Apexi Power FC & Hand controller, Mazdaspeed Gearknob and stacker / HDD from the boot. It's a bit of a pain now that I have to get the car going and sort out the boosting issue.

Are they not insured for that type of thing? Or go back to the shipping company?

i have an insurance claim in with the company I will see how far we get. Now to get this car running is going to be the next thing

Sorry to hear this mate, but unfortunately someone has not only stolen your ecu but has also stolen your map on that ecu as well. I would suggest; to get the car checked over by a competent person before you boost the car...

What other non oem items are on the car at the moment?

I imagine, unless it's bone standard of which i doubt as it had a pfc fitted, that the s8 ecu is limiting boost due to creep.

I have managed get the car running with a stock series 8 ECU. Just been sorting out the basics with oil change, coolant change, new filters, Compression check etc. Also working through changing some of the old vacuum lines. The car has low boost on the primary and intermittent on the secondary. Hopefully get to the bottom of that today.

As for non standard parts - its runs an HKS RS Intake, Knightsport Titanium rear exhaust with R Magic Centre Pipe, Autoexe Underbody Bracing and Ohlins Adjustables. Loosing the Power FC has taken the shine off it tho and I am claiming for a new unit and tune.
