How to run fans after switch off

No worries. Yes it has a couple of screws holding it in just wanted a photo from the back of the dash to see what I couldn’t see! If that makes sense
 
Just out of interest does anyone know how to jump the aircon relay like you can dog with the fuel pump relay in the front relay box
 
if you short TFA and GND in the diagnostics connector then that should start the fans

What I meant was I've not got a fuel pump relay it's just 2 pins and a wire is it possible to do the same with the aircon one to see if the aircon system still works even though its removed just want the button to work so the fans will come on
 
Like this but for the aircon one or if I wire the plug in behind the glove box is that all I need to do to get the switch to light up and the fans come on high speed

Well yeah that would work, but the air con button should work even if your air con has gone.

If you're just testing if it works turn the car on and press the button.

You might as well short it in the diagnostics box if that's what you're going to do
 
I'll try and plug the switch behind the glove box and that what you said and see how that goes I also need to reset my coolant temp from 90 down to 86
 
Yes you can do it from the glove box. 1 sec and I'll screens hot the pic on fduk for you! All you need is 4 spades and 2 wires ?
 
Had a thought. If you don't get a chance to try it out and I have time and remember I'll pull my relay and put the switch on to see if it will flick my fans on ? if someone else is potch in about with theirs then maybe they could pull their relay and jump in with an answer ?
 
Right managed to get the wiring dine I the socket behind the glove box and my ac button now works and fans come on but now when I turn the heater fans on and the ac my rpm keeps bouncing from 1000 to 1500 when stationary that still happens when the ac button is switched off I love fault finding ???
 
You got an apexi? Maybe you've done an idle learn in the past without ac being included in the idle learn?
 
I'd guess it's you're idle learn! You could just try it anyway but I'm not sure if it'll work......
Idle learn is......start fd cold, run for 10 mins. After 10 mins put all switches on, headlights, fog lights, blowers and a/c! You usually do this after resetting the apexi base map. You could try it and see if it works! If you had a steady idle at 1000 rpm fot instance then you could adjust your idle down with the commander!
 
It's OK. It's pretty basic stuff so they should know. The problem you have though is that your car is mapped, I have a sneaky suspicion that you have to reset the ecu for an idle learn! If that is the case, then I would suggest just to live with it or its gonna cost you to remap the car. I'm surprised that someone like Gavbey hasn't dropped in on this one as he knows his apexi business! I'm just a noob still
 
Yes idle learn requires an ecu reset
Plenty you can try before then, remove the elbow and you will see a large flat head screw turn it all the way in the back it off a turn and a half. This is the air bypass screw and should help
