Exhaust temp light flashing

Latest posts

Power fc uses the heat light as a fault warning, could be knock or injector duty but could also be an omp issue
Ooo omp issue ive not heard that one before tbf , that makes me nervous, maybe il just send it away to the pros to have a look at

You can check sensors with the hand controller, this may help - download the manual for the power fc commander from here

This morning before i went to work did a check of the sensors ect on the hand controller this was the outcome when cold this morning

after driving it 17 miles to work this was what the controller says.

This is what it says after 17 miles driving back home then stopped. Car drives fine.

drove back from work and is says knock 82, i read somewhere the apexi is set to flash the exhaust light if its over 50 knock?

Im assuming its hearing vibrations or something from somewhere in the driveline or broken engine mount or something ?

Mate keep it on that page and go for a thrash, see what your max inj duty is.

When I was maxing out my injectors it did exactly this and always on the high rpm decel

If that 53% is at full send to redline then please disregard.

It can be set to any value but only with the fcedit program not the commander

That was my foot flat to the floor, might have been able to go a few more rpm but ran out of road,

Ive got a new (secondhand) knock sensor on its way, i got to change the oil and filter this weekend so il change that too and see if its any difference.

I turned the knock warning off on the hand controller and had no flashing exhaust light all the way home, so must be knock warning, will fit the new sensor at the weekend and report back.

Honestly, don’t bother with the sensor. It’s quite literally a little piezo mic that will pick up any and all bangs, vibrations and rattles.

Do you have an AFR meter? As long as that is reading safe you’ll be fine.

I do not have an afr meter , can i view that on the hand controller or something i need to set up myself ?

Changed the knock sensor, still same issue.

Must be vibrations on the car, it does it even reving the engine out of gear at around 2500ish rpm.

Just going to turn the flippen light off on the controller 😂😂

The flashing exhaust temp light on your RX7 could indicate that the ECU has detected an issue with the exhaust temperature or engine performance. Since you're running an Apexi ECU without the hand controller, it may be harder to diagnose specific issues directly. You can use an OBD2 code reader (if compatible) or look into getting an Apexi-compatible controller or a specific ECU diagnostic tool to read the codes. It’s best to check the manual or online forums for your specific ECU model for further guidance.
Ive got a new oled hand controller , it was the knock saying its high ,car runs and drives fine, so im under the impression its sensing vibrations somewhere in the drivetrain so ive just turned the knock warning off for now
